December 12, 201114 yr I've just had a CTD due to a problem with flight.dll.I've never had this problem before - has anyone else had it, and found out what the cause of it was?Best regards,Peter Keenan
December 13, 201114 yr Flight.dll, like many other DLLs in FS or CFS, is a piece of programming (or sub-routine) which performs a specific function and is dependant on correct data and data syntax being supplied to it. If there's anything incorrect within this data, the sim will often crash (CTD) due to some kind of data conflict within the DLL itself and will then incorrectly point to this DLL as being the culprit. So, to cut a long story short, it's almost never the DLL itself but in very many cases the problem is caused by a recent addon which contains some kind of error. These types of problems are very difficult to pin-point and the only thing I can suggest is to de-activate each recently installed addon, beginning with the latest one and then see if your problem persists, etc until you find which addon is causing your problem.Good luck.Hans
December 13, 201114 yr Peter - you haven't had a good answer, I suspect, because a crash attributed to flight.dll is as good as unknown. To be honest, if it isn't causing a repetitive problem I wouldn't bother worrying about it.John My co-pilot's name is Sid and he's a star! http://www.adventure-unlimited.org

I also had this dll crash once in a while, it's tcas2v7.dll. It happened like 0-5% of all my flights tile now. It's acceptable IMO. Unless crashes related to fe.dll since that is likely caused by many factors and it is known as repetitive crashes. (I read your tips John, it helped me dealing with FE.dll crashes about a week ago right after I installed some Aerosoft airports, thank you, it's been very helpful :)).
December 13, 201114 yr Author It happened again - I found the error now - it was "Runtime error R6025 pure virtual functional call".I wonder if it is to do with the aircraft.
December 13, 201114 yr It happened again - I found the error now - it was "Runtime error R6025 pure virtual functional call".Here are some suggestions:http://www.articlewr...epair_Tool.htmlI do not endorse the product offered for download; in my opinion it is unwise to download software to "fix" your computer from an un-trusted source, stick with the manual methods.Another interesting discussion connects this issue with Microsoft Money software: http://www.tomshardw...l-function-callThere are loads more references to be found on the net, Google is your friend.John My co-pilot's name is Sid and he's a star! http://www.adventure-unlimited.org
December 13, 201114 yr I would just re-install FS9, see if that fixes the problem. if not download the free Registry Defrag software by iExpertsoftware. :) "Caution is the elder brother of wisdom"
