February 9, 200422 yr Regarding the Bonanza, there seems to be some confusion whether or not there is actually going to be a brand new "from scratch" fs2004 version...OR if the newly released fs2004 update patch is the end of the line for now?...if nobody else is confused, I sure am :-)Their website description of whats going on with this model isn't very clear...on the one hand the description says itll be a new from scratch model but on the other hand their screenshot section seems to announce the same thing only it says its going to an "update".Now that theyve released an fs2004 update patch im really confused as there are some folks buying this yet others are saying to wait because there will be an entirely new version which will be better/improved.I have a feeling this update patch is all we're going to see anytime soon because it doesnt make much sense to charge for the update patch and then release an entirely new version following...seems to me there would be some unhappy campers if they did that. Can someone from Carenado please clarify a bit so we all know whats going to happen? Thanks :-)Dave Dave Kalin Excel Classes Computer Lessons
February 10, 200422 yr I agree, very confusing. At the moment though I'm eager to try their new Beech T34 when it comes outBest,JOel
February 10, 200422 yr Author I have purchased the update for the Bonanza. I figured I have spend $6.50 on worse things. They have updated the straight tail version and not the V-tail. I was a bit disapointed to see that only one version was updated. However the straight tail version is very beautiful. It takes advantage of many FS9 features. It comes with its own sounds and everything else advertised on their website. You have to install the FS2002 straight tail bonanza into FS9 then install the update on top of it. I like this aircraft a lot. The VC is more clear than the previous FS2002 version. I would like to see an updated version of the V-Tail, but I cannot find any information if this will happen. I imagine like most FS designers, they want to close old issues quickly to move on to bigger and better (high priced) projects. All in all, to have a full functional Bonanza back in the hanger is worth it.
February 10, 200422 yr According to Carenado, the update for the V Tail will be released in about a week - good news for me because I purchased the wrong update by mistake! Intel I7-4770 3.4Ghz 16 Gb RAM nVidia GTX770 2Gb Windows 8.1 64 bit P3D 4.4/3.4 FSX SE
February 11, 200422 yr i purchased the update too, as carenado explained to me that there is no new version comming out for the bonanza...this update patch is it.I purchased it, and unfortunately i feel that it was $6.50 down the drain..i was very dissapointed with the quality of the VC. Very poor blurry vc textures, horrid looking background bitmap, poor cockpit lighting technique for night flights...definately nowhere close to the quality of their latest cessna 210. I cant believe they actually charged me for this "update" considering its quality and also considering i own all their other aircraft theyve released.Oh well...back to my quest for the perfect vfr craft to use in turbulent air.Dave Dave Kalin Excel Classes Computer Lessons
