December 15, 201114 yr Hi all,Tried flying a real-weather flight from Cold Bay, AK (PACD) to Dutch Harbor, AK (PADU), and it was very, very rough--40kt gusts and cross winds. Was such a fun challenge (I didn't keep the L-188 on the runway)!Anyway, I noticed that even in very high winds, etc., that the ocean was quite glassy still. Did Laminar drop the wave height change setting? I don't recall using it in XP-9, but saw some threads that they could be set in 9.Does anyone know how/if that is a setting (wave height) in XP-10, or if there is a plug-in for this?Thanks...really enjoying XP-10 "in the soup"Billwww.flyelectra.com
December 15, 201114 yr Wave height can be set manually in the weather section. AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, RTX 4080S, Ram - 32GB, 32" 4K Monitor, WIN 11. Eric Escobar
December 15, 201114 yr Author Thanks...Duuuhhh...I thought I was looking for that setting, and just didn't see it....right in front of me in the weather setting. Here is my wish for weather upgrades---(1) Load metar real-weather (provides the best "look and feel"...and is "real")(2) Retain option to modify manually, including water/wave settings....that is, load real wx, then go to "modify real wx" options. Now, when I un-check real weather, it goes to a default. I'd like the default to become "real weather" as a basis for fine-tuning waves, etc.Make sense? Thanks
December 15, 201114 yr It would be cool to have directional waves based on wind direction with wave height determined by wind speed...then a modifiable scalar in the text file settings for advanced user tweaks.. Aaron
December 15, 201114 yr If the wave height can be set manually, there should certainly be a fairly straightforward way for the system to automatically set it based on wind speed... perhaps not directionally yet, but at least the heights....
