December 16, 201114 yr Hi! I am a mostly IFR/Heavy flyer. I have ASE and have used HiFi products from a very veyr long time, however; my X-mas is very very tight this year, I've been off and on work for a while and I was thinking of buying ASE2012. I really really llike my REX textures and I'll probablt end of keeping those. Does the new ASE2012 add any benefit to the guy flying 73's at FL400, is there a big improvment on the Wx engine. I ask because I already have ASE and REX and I don't want to bite the bullet, but I have too and soon in order to take advantage of the cheaper price.Cheers Ron Ron Hamilton "95% is half the truth, but most of it is lies, but if you read half of what is written, you'll be okay." __ Honey Boo Boo's Mom
December 16, 201114 yr I can tell you, as I bounced back and fourth between ASE and AS2012, the new version quickly became my Wx engine of choice. Rex textures, as you save them to FS, can be saved into AS2012 as snapshots and can then be influanced by your FP and weather data as you re-install snapshots back into FS. Same with AS12 native textures - chose custom textures choices or let the FP weather influance the textures chosen, prior to installation into FS. You can even change the weighting factors used by specific texturers against specific wheather scenarios. I also enjoy big-iron at the higher FL's in DWC mode, with all the other external applications (RC, FSFK, and FSPassengers) and I can tell you, ASE won't be used again on my network client. December 16, 201114 yr If you have FSUIPC installed, please make absolutely sure you read the sticky note above in this forum, about the new FSUIPC version available on Pete's forum. You absolutely need this update to make DWC work right - which is especially useful for big-iron at FL's. Regards, Al Jordan | KCAE
