AS2012 - a few thoughts

Featured Replies

I just got AS2012 and, with no surprise, I am very pleased!Yet, allow me a couple of suggestions/questions:1. Contrarily to ASE, I found the background of map very blury - as images (clouds, precipitation, etc.) are out of focus (please see the attached screenshot).2. In flight plan shown in the map, I suggest that the flight plan to the alternate airport be shown in a different color (in order to be not confused with the main flight plan).3. Similarly to the previous versions, I have always problems with the zoom in the map. It takes a long time -may be it is mycomputer (I use a networked laptop for AS2012).4. I really didn´t like the textures for the roads and I could not figure out a process to revert to those I had before. How can I do it? I have already deselected "Roads and Rail" in the install options of AS2012 but could not find an option to load the textures that were backed up.5. If possible, it would be helpful to have in text the metar contents given by the 122.00 and 122.02 frequencies. As I use a laptop for AS2012, sound quality isn´t great and a text would certainly help. It is indeed a nice program, and being a long time supporter of HiFi, I couldn´t not pass this opportunity to express again my support to you guys! Thanks

Concerning point 4, I found that I may copy back files named hiway_*.bmp that were backed up to the FSX directory ..sceneryworldtexture.Is this correct? Thanks

Damian or Chris,I learned that AS2012 overwrites a few files (such as halo.bmp).How can we revert to the previous condition, i.e. to the original file before As2012 installation? I could find the files that were saved before installation and I can manually move them to the appropriate folders and then de-select them on the AS2012 graphics menu. Is tis the correct procedure? Thanks

Hi Edmundo,First in as2012 advanced option, select which texture you dont want to install for future sessions in fsx, in this case is runways lights. To get our previous texture needed, initial backup are in, For Vista and 7 this is C:UsersUsernameAppDataLocalHiFi

Kind Regards

Just wanted to say thanks for your suggestions and feedback! To restore original textures before AS2012 installs, you can restore the "default backup" (Graphics, Settings).
