December 20, 201114 yr Hi everyone, looking for a CPU for my new setup. The Intel Core i7 990X (3,46GHz) seems to rank very high in most ratings, and I assume it would work well in FSX. Should I go for it? I should probably mention that I do not want to overclock by any means. Thanks in advance for your advice.

December 20, 201114 yr 6 cores are smooth!!FSX can't take advantage of them.... Less cores at high clock speed is what he needs.
December 20, 201114 yr It can use the two extra cores for texture load and may help smoothness in heavy areas. but i agree not worth the cost in fsx. Simon
