I wish when developers of payware consider the communication and navigation radios, they would consider putting clickable links instead of click and drag links to the control knobs, especially to the OBI knobs. The reason I wish this, is trying a drag a discrete radial into an OBI is difficult. If you are trying to set up a fix at an intersection one may have to set say a radial of 303 for instance. It is hard to guess exactly where a 3 is between the 0 of the 300 and the 5 of the 305. Frequencies aren't quite as difficult. but trying to set a needle exactly in an OBI or a bug in a HSI is difficult.Just my 2 cents worth.

Well, when I remember my time flying general aviation planes that was exactly the way it was, though. You turn the OBI or the course pointer on the HSI until you think its where you want it. No little window showing you discrete numbers...So. "as real as it gets" or "as convenient as it gets"Jan

Yes Jan, you are correct but in real life you have a bit more control on the click spots than with a mouse. LOL. And of course you aren't looking at a 24 inch screen.I agree with your point, one has to make decisions, and of course not everyone is going to be happy with YOUR decision mo matter what it was. :( (Caps for emphasis).Not a big problem either way for me, and I respect the developers right to make those decisions in the end. It does seem to me that clicking is more like turning a knob, than sliding with a mouse, but that is just me.By the way, I am waiting for your plane, it will be my one and only airliner purchase, as I am a GA person. I'm currently flying the Duchess! I find that the gauges are easier to read in X-Plane 10 than they are in 9.70 Somehow the markings seem to be more visible. For instance in 9.70 I cannot see the tick marks in the attitude indicator, but in version 10 they are plain as day. same with the airspeed indicator. Do you find this true also?Flies quite nicely in version 10 also. I did have to tone my CH Yoke down a bit, made the pitch and roll, both less linear. Made the plane feel a bit heavier than a single, works quite nicely.Up to this point, i have been SEL almost exclusively, but I will probably fly the twin a lot more now.

FYI, if the yokes get in the way, click on Cabin Air Blower on the lower part of the main panel. That hides the yokes so you get a better view. Click it again to bring them back.

I understand, it is hard to see good detail on a small screen...I have had good success with the TrackIR gadget - lean forward to see stuff better, lean back for an overall view. It is quite pricey and takes some getting used to, though. It is a nice step towards "virtual reality", though - and I couldn´t see myself operate a real 3D cockpit without it anymore...You are right - it never ends - always one more thing to get :-)Jan

I have the Track IR also. yes it is nice, couple that with stereographic 3D and is not to be believed. Wish I could get anaglyph stero in OpenGL that is about the only thing I miss in the other sims. I do have eDimensional 3D, unfortunately my cat chewed the wire into between the camera and the dongle. :smile:I've had it for several yeas so it is out of date now anyway, and this 60 hertz LCD monitor is not worth upgrading.
