EGLL default runways problems FSX

Recommended Posts

Hi!I have problem with MS ATC at EGLL in FSX Deluxe + Acceleration + Just Flight: Traffic X. When I try to land or take-off from Heatrow, I'm told by default ATC to start/land on runways 09R or 09L. I've tried to set wind both from ~270 or ~90 degrees. I also try change in ADE 1.50 runway properties => primary (09) land/t-off no/no, change primary from 09 to 27, set orphan ILS for 09 runways. And nothing help. I've tried this on UK2000 Heatrow, Ray Smith's EGLL from Avsim and even on borrowed Heathrow from Mega Airports. And I've constant get 09 runways set, although I would like to use set of 27's (commonly used in real life). If anybody had solution or any sugestion is hugely welcome to share this one with me. :)

It was a long time ago but I think I had to change around the direction of the hold shorts from foward to reverse except at each end of the runways.

Ok just to be sure I flew in there today because of the strong westerlies, I got a RWY 27R approach.

Daveo, When You said that You fly to EGLL and land on 27R, I hit on an idea and solve the problem. First of all I set default flight with clear wheather theme (I love blue sky:)). So when I constantly change wind directions and strenght (simple mode or advanced settings) based on clear wheather theme, this nothing changes. I figure out an idea to change wheather first by change weather theme to (default) fair weather and next direction of wind. And it works. So I change wheater to fair theme (default fsx standard wheather), next I can remove clouds and I have blue sky (which I like to fly with). In therm of wind, now I must change only wind direction to ~270 degrees. Speed can be set as low as 0 kts.

09L and 09R are the default rwys unless you set the wind direction as westerlies. It is much better to use a weather engine that picks up the actual wind direction and feeds it into the sim. One other thing you must do at EGLL. is to designate the rwysfor takeoff and landing. You need to create four afcad files or similar so that (1).rwy 27L is landing 27R is take-off. and (2) 27L is T/O 27R is LND (3) 09R is T/O 09L is LND (3) 09R is LND 09L is T/O. This will mirror the rwy changeover as part of the noise abatement procedure.vololiberista
