ENB Series

Featured Replies

I am using ENB Series for FSX for a short spell. But when I use a second monitor with FSX, ENB is only visible on the second one and my first monitor has some black "bands" on it. When I switch out ENB Series, this doesn`t happen.Have you an idea how to run this great program with multiple monitors?CheersDavid

On the main monitor the normal VC view is located, the other shows the instruments.David

Okay, I can help you. When you ran fsx in fullscreen and your setup is used the second monitor gets black. You aren't able to see your desktop anymore, right? But you still can drag the instruments to the second monitor and it works. However ENB doesn't like the fullscreen mode very much. So the only thing you can do is to run FSX in windowed mode. However the main screen looks very crab than with the task bar and the bar around the FSX window. If you don't like this you could use FS-SIMtimizer. It basicly makes the FSX fullscreen again on the main monitor, however it is still windowed, but the window is one pixel larger than your mainscreen. FS-SIMtimizer is available here, it is freeware, and has no impact on fps.The download site is in german, however, you only have to look for this line: "FS-SIMtimizer - Das Multifunktionstool für FS 2004 und FS X"Just run it before fsx starts and when you start your flight in windowed mode just hit "Alt+Enter" to get it to fullscreen. So now you have ENB working on a fullscreen FSX monitor, however now your second monitor will show your desktop. When you try to pull over the Primary Flight Display for instance you won't be able to move it outside your main monitor. So you have to right click the PFD and there should be an item similar to "undock window" or something like that. Than you have the bar around the window again. Now you can grab it and drag it over to your second monitor. But the only problem you might have now, is that you won't be able to remove the bar now. Because if you do so the undocked window will move back to your mainscreen. So if you can life with the instruments with the bars around them on the second screen but ENB working you can do that what I have written above. If you can't life with instruments with bars around them you unfortunally have to switch ENB off.Hope this might help you,Jonathan

Thanks Jonathan. But you can get rid of that problem by simply clicking the mousewheel while pressing the windows-key on the keyboard.

NEW! FS-SIMtimizer for FS9 und FS X (Version 2.1) NEW!

  • Commercial Member

ENB is pretty much always going to cause weird issues like this - it's a dll injection hack and it's not actually made for FSX. (the version everyone uses is made for the Grand Theft Auto games) I've emailed Boris before about making an FSX specific version but he doesn't seem to be interested in doing it.
