January 1, 201214 yr Because the file is in a (by default) hidden folder, a lot of people still have problems finding it, so I always advice to go to Start and copy this in the find area and then hit Enter. The folder with the cfg in it will open no matter if the folder is hidden or not.%AppData%MicrosoftFSXAfter finding the file, make a shortcut to it!To immediately open the file:%AppData%MicrosoftFSXfsx.cfg
January 1, 201214 yr It's a pain in the B... I've been flying FSX since day one and still have to sit and think about where it is if I need to go there and tweak. Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.
January 1, 201214 yr To immediately open the file:%AppData%MicrosoftFSXfsx.cfgGreat suggestion Jeroen! It makes it faster and easier to get to the config to make changes. A quick link to the scenery.cfg would be a great idea too. I made a shortcut and put it in my desktop FlightSim folder (a desktop folder that has all my FSX shortcuts in it). With my desktop FlightSim folder, I can open it and then start up AS2012, XPAX, Shade, and check to make sure PNW is set appropriately in FTX Central, set FTX to Day or Night, make a quick flight plan with FS Build, startup 3D Real Cockpits Effects, and, when the flight finishes, open up the FSUIPC.log to see if I had any G3D crashes stopped or other anomalies during the flight. I also put in many of the manuals I have in this folder to make it much faster opening and looking at a procedure, etc., before a flight.Best regards,Jim
