Overclocked 2500K - the hex-core is useless in most games, FSX included.

I own a 980x (got first week was out) and to buy one in today's chip market would be simple put dumb when 2600K and the newer enthuses chips architecture is far superior and more overclockable and even more-so once looking at price points too.

Thanks for the tips guy's, the 2500K was what I was thinking but wasn't sure if things had changed since I last checked. Still another year before I make another upgrade, my machines humming away perfectly at the moment.Cheers

Yes. The 990x is the same as the 980x...the true difference is whether it performed intel's tests better. Now sandy bridge is a newer architecture and I would go for that. It is clearly a better processor.
