January 6, 201214 yr I was REALLY disappointed with Flight... It's totally different then what all of us expected. What will be of FSX? In 5-10 years it will be like FS2002 now... Nobody wants it. Or, it could be like FS2004, which kinda reminds me of Windows XP's continuous usage. (It's the most used OS in the world) Maybe FSX will be the same?Prepar3D thing is $500. I can't afford that. Is that it for flight simulation? Are we done?Microsoft Studios did a lot of work on Flight, only for it to me trashed by the real FS community. Why didn't they just make FSX SP3? I would have much rather payed $10-$20 for SP3 than get Flight for free and pay for scenery later. Edited January 6, 201214 yr by linux731 i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
January 6, 201214 yr At the moment we are done.Flight: forget it. After one hour yesterday I saw enough. Its like Crimson Skies. Just forget it, not what we want.P3D is not intended for consumer use, en with 10$ subscription it will never reach a wider audiance, so addons will be less.XPlane, still much behind FSXFSX, performance problem inside out, unless in a Cub over the dessert or you can steal NASA supercomputer cyclesSo this rests us only FS9 for the normal people, or FSX for the rich who can affort very fast($$) computers. One bright light: just wait a year or so, faster computers are released constantly and you can buy your FSX PC for less with great performance.. thats what I gonna do. FSX will be my last sim when the right PC comes out. Finally, Tom can remove this forum. AVSIM is about AViation SIMulators, and FLIGHT isnt one.
January 6, 201214 yr So this rests us only FS9 for the normal people, or FSX for the rich who can affort very fast($$) computers.I don't agree with this anymore. FSX runs fine on my extremely cheap PC with settings almost on full. If you add a VERY complex aircraft, just come back on the appropriate sliders. It takes some reading and tweaking but FSX is certainly not just for the rich.FSX, performance problem inside out, unless in a Cub over the dessert or you can steal NASA supercomputer cyclesIf this is really the case, there is something very wrong with your setup. A cub over the dessert is perfectly doable on Celerons with GeForce 8600s. Edited January 6, 201214 yr by TheBFG
January 6, 201214 yr Done as well....I spent a bit of time flying through a bunch of stupid balloons as that was a big big reminder as to why I will never own an XBOX...MS is losing its biggest core audience...The biggest hardware technogeeks are the FSX ones and MS are losing that demographic with this peace of $hit Edited January 6, 201214 yr by ytzpilot Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
