Hey guys,I've been the proud owner of FSX since the day it was released. The other day I decided to take a trip down memory lane and perform some missions in the default MS aircraft. Flying the jumbo jet into Singapore I noticed that the MCP in the virtual cockpit is, well, all over the place (literally). I'm talking about the duplicate B/C button, the inoperative CMD button and altitude/speed dials and the disproportionately small V/S button that appears to have been 'pasted' onto the texture.Is this a bug on my system, or have other people experienced difficulties with operating the MS 747-400 from the virtual cockpit as well?Best wishes

No bug on your system That's the way the default 747's VC is in FSX.Regards.Ernie.

When you look back at these default jets in FSX, you have to actually scratch your head. You can't even start the engines on the 737 without using Ctrl+E. I'm not sure how anyone can put up with them for more than a minute at a time!

But then they are very Frame rate friendly. I merged Ifly's 738 with the default VC and I like it a lot, also because now the VC is at the right height.

You could download a freeware 744 panel and add the gauges to your VC

Right height? I'm having trouble believing that the default 737 is more accurate than the iFly one. In any way!

Yeah the frame rate thing is bang on; I can fly through a storm with maximum scenery density and get >40 fps with the default VC which is a breath of fresh air considering I've had to make do with ~20 fps since buying add-ons!

That CPU of yours is begging to be overclocked. You should be able to get yours to the 3.2GHz I run my E8200 at, and yours will run cooler and better than mine. You also have almost exactly the same graphics card as mine, so with a few tweaks you should be getting far better than that. Might be worth checking out some of the tweaking reccomendations around here, I run many addons and complex aircraft at a minimum of 25fps.

I meant that the default VC in the default 738 is situated too low, it's about 5 feet lower than the outside model, too close to the ground. I like the Ifly VC, I just can't seem to get more than low teens to single digit frame rates near airports. And I have the horrible mouse cursor issue.
