Jepp charts on iPad

Featured Replies

Howard, have you tried CircleToLand for iPad? I also mainly use FSKneeboard for flying in the US and for the European countries I've downloaded charts from different sites and read them with Goodreader. The Goodreader approach means that you have the charts on the iPad readily available but you have to keep them updated yourself. CircleToLand shows a list of countries it covers and it seems they are linking to the official aeronautical organization of each of these countries and their chart pages. It then retrieves the chart you request but doesn't save it to the iPad, just show it until you chose another chart. With a good internet connection it doesn't matter anway. It has a very simple interface but it gets the job done. The countries that are covered right now is, reading from my iPad: Austrialia, Estonia, Finland, France, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, UK, USA.

Sure Krister, it sounds very similar to what I have arranged on my Ipad at the moment. I have created a folder named charts (how original!) and in there I have saved sites like Skvector for US, Airservice Australia, AIP.net for New Zealand and NATS-UK for Britain. The only charts / sites I do not have, are airports around europe. eg, Spain, Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland, Greece and Portugal. which is a shame really, as these tend to be the routes I fly the most in while flying the NGX. Although I have the charts that came with the addons, it would be cool to have the equivalent online sites as I have for these other countries all in the same folder.EDIT: I SEE YOU HAVE SOME OF THOSE COUNTRIES ON YOUR IPAD, BUT I CANNOT FIND THESE ANYWHERE ON THE NET!!

First, Eurocontrol is a great source for all charts in Europe and it needs registration: http://www.eurocontrol.int/ and if you don't necessarily need official charts, you can always check out the ones the different VATSIM regional organizations provides: http://charts.vateud.net/ or go to each organizatioins own website http://www.vateur.org/Honestly, many of the charts you find through the VATSIM resource are better looking and easier to handle than the ones you get from eurocontrol...Here are a couple of official sites that are free to access:Spain: http://www.aena.es/c...58950596#ancla3France: https://www.sia.avia...eset_aip_fr.htm
