January 9, 201214 yr So MS comes out with flight saying it is a way to introduce more people to the world of flying. What if they take the best of FSX and Flight and make it into FS11 for the more serious flight sim audience? Flight could still be there to bring in the casual flyer who is looking for for fun missions and what not, and as those people learn and want more out of it, they can them move onto FS11. You could have the two products side by side, one as a free download and the other as a download or boxed store version like FSX was.It could happen, I dont know if it would or not, but it could.Kyle
January 9, 201214 yr Todays games are driven by graphics (eye candy) them game play. If the "eye candy is there the market will be there.Thats why people spend thousands of dollars on graphics cards. As one person said over at toms hardware. "your xbox cost what I paid for one graphics card along". core i7-975@ 5.0 ASUS sabertooth x58 motherboard 12gb crucial ballistics @2000mhz 2 msi 6970 2gb gpus in crossfire 1000 watt psu water cooled windows 7 64
January 9, 201214 yr They simply can add serious stuff to MS Flight. There is no need for a F11 or Pro version. MS Flight is scalable from the start (if that's the right word). It's the bottom of the pizza and more and more ingredients will be offerend and everyone can pick what he wants. Some will pick arcade challenges and other hope to pick something like ATC. :( Some will stick with the free package and others will spend hundreds of dollars on it, who knows. Whatever pizza you choose from the menu, it will have the same bottom.

It would help clear a lot of mess, and maybe change our view on Flight (hopefully), while others will remain stubborn... understandable, knowing how much time and effort people have spent on FS. But still, why not use both? At least consider trying a free game (/sim, who knows)? Theirs nothing to loose but a few minutes. :) Project FireBird, the future of flight simulation. *btw, when using the term 'game' it is an umbrella term, it also includes simulation and racing games, and everything in-between. Do not twist my words. "A video game is an electronic form of play that involves interaction with a user interface to generate visual feedback on a video device" - the definition of the word "videogame", game is the common shorthand for videogame. Just being clear. Intel® Core™2 Quad Processor Q8400 @3.20GHz | Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit | ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB (core clock OC'd to 880MHz) | 3.00GB RAM (@667Mhz) | 500GB Hard Drive

It just feels a bit over the top somehow to type 'he or she' everytime I say something in general because I quite often talk in general... But be sure that whenever I talk in general about 'he' or 'him' I always addres women too! :( (I also visit a forum about music where there are a LOT more women than there usually are on flightsim forums, but there I also usually stick to 'he'...) Anyway, I feel sorry now for not listening to the little voice in the back of my mind. ^_^Ok, back on topic... :( Edited January 9, 201214 yr by J van E
January 9, 201214 yr No, and no. “Many people dream of flying, but few have the chance to experience the fun of exploring the world from above. Microsoft Flight provides players the opportunity to explore that curiosity and interest,” said Joshua Howard, executive producer of Microsoft Flight. “Aviation can be incredibly technical, but we’ve taken great care to build an experience that makes taking to the skies thrilling and accessible for everyone.” Edited January 9, 201214 yr by linux731 i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
