Looking for support
Thank you so very much . I did have the beta and reinstalled my OS after the beta, so i lost that stuff . The problem I 'm having , I didn't have with the beta . Is best desciber as lag . A frame by frame type of lag . I.ts not all the time, usally fly for 7 to 10 min. then it hits . I usally crash the plane as the lag is so bad I can't control the plane . Some times I don't crash the plane and after about a min. it goes away and I can run the game, until it hits again . things I have trieddrivers , game sttings high and low My system,:[email protected] sabertooth x58 MB
6GB of crucal ballistics ram (DDR3 tri channel)
EVGA 1280mb 470 gtx superclocked gpuwindows 7 I run many games (BF3, FSX, BC2 etc) on highest settings with no lag . I was going to reinstall the Flight game but was not for sure if I would beable to use my same account and apply what I have acomplished

Outrageous Pricing hurting Microsoft Flight......
I think the prices for the addons for Flight are pretty cheap compaired to some of the addons for FSX . I have spent hundreds not counting a PC that now runs FSx . And many of these purchased 3rd party addons (mainly aircraft ) now don't work as I run DX10 . I love this quote, "Which is better, 2,000 people paying $15......or 10,000 people paying $5. Obviously you want as many customers as possible, and as many as possible potential customers for future releases as well."I have said the same thing to FSX developers, more time than I can count, but yet they still sell them for the price of a full game . I suppose thats why Microsoft is doing what there doing, Its all about money and FSX developers must be making money .

Looking for support
Can anyone point me to the Flight support or official forum, as I'm having some problems . I tried the support area on the main Flight page with no luck as Flight is not a option in the "search for support for a particular game " search .

I suppose this is the last place for help...
I have tried hyper threading on and off . I did some research on the affinity mask and actually found a thread here at avsim . At the end someone in that thread just turn off hyper threading . I will give it a go. I clean my PC every month . I have had people see it and flip out how well I take care of it and how clean it is .I will try your ideas and see how it works out . I still think it has somthing to do with DX or C++ from MS . Thats the only things that have changed in the last 6 or so months when this started . I will report back it I do find a fix . thank you all .

I suppose this is the last place for help...
Never heard of it . Like I said I played this sim flawlessly for years with out a hiccup, until the last 6 months or so . I never did any kind of tweaks . But your right its one finicky game .Just out of curiosity, FSX from my reading is a CPU hog instead of a GPU hog . So with that said I don't understand how a GPU that only has about 35% load can cause these problems .

I suppose this is the last place for help...
I will try a beta driver latest one . I have did this in the past, with no improvments . I will also try inspector. The only cig. changes I made was to add a couple of lines, but again with no help . So I changed them back . Thing that gets me is it ran super in DX9 on a slower PC and this one until I had to upgrade drivers and MS did its update .

I suppose this is the last place for help...
Ok I locked the FPS at 30, went for a spin and FPS flux was 27 to 30 . Much less than be for . Ran in DX9 mode . Still have stutters . Are you using the beta driver or the last WHQL non-beta driver (285.62).

I suppose this is the last place for help...
It does flux, about 10 fps in both DX10 and DX9 . In DX 9 at KNFW (carswell) I get 27 to 35 in DX9 and 35 to 40 in DX10 . I have set mt FPS slider in all kinds a places, and right now is set at 55 fps .

I suppose this is the last place for help...
I have been having this stutter problem with FSX for some time now . I have google and asked on a few othet forums with no help . The crazy part is I only get these stutters in dx9 mode and fawless performance in dx10 mode . People keep saying thats backwards, dx10 is worst than dx9 . It seemed to start after new video card driver were above the nvidea 270.61 driver . But as new games come out one has to install new drivers . So I went back to the 270.61 driver and behold have the same stutter issue . Then I stumble across a post on another forum where someone said its the c++ updates from MS . Si I'm lost as to the fix to run FSX in dx9 . Dx10 is fine but now I have many addons that won't work with DX10 (textures).I ussaly run 30+ FPS and as high as in dx10 and pretty close with dx9 . Sliders are from 3/4 to maxed out .specscore [email protected] sabertooth x58 MB6GB crucial balistics ramEVGA 470 1280mb superclocked (overclocked)Any help would be most apreciated .

Maybe someone here can help.
Thanks for the replies. I have never messed around with the config. file. So I took a look at it. I seen where there was a place too change the setting for single, dual and quad core cpus. After some research I found some settings. I changed that setting to 90 and turned up the AA in the Nvidea CP and so far so good. Thanks

Maybe someone here can help.
I have a small stutter while playing FSX in DX9. It does not stutter in DX10 preview. I thought it was the new Nvidea drivers causing it,as it never did it with the driver I used for some time. I did some research and found many threads about people having the same problem after installing the new drivers. I have tried diffrent settings with FSX and hardware.Crazy part is,in the past I ran FSX in full graphics and never had a glitch. When I seen this start was about the time I installed BF3.Thats when I had to install the new drivers. Since I have uninstalled BF3 and went back to the best driver (270.61). I was told that MS updated the C++ software and it was playing havoc with FSX..So I installed the last C++ update and helped some. Be for this happened I ran FSX with a constant 30 to 50 FPS. Now its 5 to 90 and all over the place. Any ideals?

Pull the Plug on the FLIGHT Forum.
All one has to do is put 2+2 together. The third party folks say they don't make any money off there add ons. But if there were no money to make off them,do you really think MS would invest time and money into a game thats going to require purchasing add on material. When flight was first announced and screens and videos were shown, people were excited about it,until :"cough" found out they got left out.

Pull the Plug on the FLIGHT Forum.
Yes pull the plug,so that after flight is released and people start responding to it. The ones who said pull the forum plug come back and ask to create another flight section.... Yip...The people who started this negative flight bashing was from 3rd party developers. But blame MS...

Do we need Microsoft?
The purchasing of scenery & planes is no different than buying from a FSX company like IRIS or Justflight. Actually it could be even better. As with FSX 3rd party ,you buy from a dozen or more places. That means there are a dozen or more account, serial numbers.license and activations that have to be kept up with. I hated steam at first. But after understanding the positives of it (all your software is Central located) its great.Just today I had to reload a FSX 3rd party add on. The key won't activate and now I have to wait days for or when the developer decides to answer my email.

Pull the Plug on the FLIGHT Forum.
Well look at this...someone who has a real brain.Thats what happened as soon as these greedy 3rd party Dev's. knew they were out of luck..

The cat's not only out of the bag, its attacking its owner!
You know when a small company sells its product in real volume? When a massive company like walmart sells it. The point here is if a Dev. were to say build a plane for flight, chances are the DEv. would sell millions compared to a few thousand if they would sell on there own. I do remember that poll...Must not have been to many hardcore simmers reply.
-
third party developers to be blamed for the way Flight has ended up?
Well said and I agree. But what corporations are not greedy? Even some of the FSX addon Dev's are this away.
-
Could Flight be a way to get more people interested in this?
Todays games are driven by graphics (eye candy) them game play. If the "eye candy is there the market will be there.Thats why people spend thousands of dollars on graphics cards. As one person said over at toms hardware. "your xbox cost what I paid for one graphics card along".
-
The cat's not only out of the bag, its attacking its owner!
Well if history repeats itself,MS will take note and make changes. MS is wanting to sell millions of the addon stuff for this game.
-
The cat's not only out of the bag, its attacking its owner!
The same thing was said about COD,BF3 and the others. At the end people bought them and the developer fixed the problems and even took the customers suggestions into account.

third party developers to be blamed for the way Flight has ended up?
The OP has a point. We never really heard a complaint about flight before its release announcement was made. Most were excited and ready for a new game. But from all the threads and posts on the web,3rd party developers knew and were even asked for there input into flight well before the announcement was made.. So why the big criticism now?
