February 20, 200422 yr HelloI was wondering, how can I find charts for some airports I have? I need the airport layout charts, those where taxiways, stands, runways, buildings etc. are listed. What would be good resource for getting those?
February 20, 200422 yr Hi Word Not Allowed,I guess you want to know where to download charts. If you want printed charts you could go for some RL pilot's old (aka outdated) charts; I see them on eBay now and then. For Europe you can check http://www.ead.eurocontrol.int/ out. But with XP you will need to install the Sun Java Machine. So better try this on another machine first, should the Sun Java wrecks some site you need. Also the Online Networks (IVAO, VATSIM, etc.) have charts for online/sim usage for their members.ByeOliver
February 20, 200422 yr http://www.myairplane.com/ Has a ton of US charts and plates for free. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
February 20, 200422 yr There's also SimPlates in the AVSIM store. It's $40 but I'm thinking of buying it just for the time it would save not having to search for everything. David

February 20, 200422 yr Thanks a bunch guy!!I noticed that mostly US charts are there, although I'm looking for European charts mostly and *some* in US.Though I was thinking more or less .pdf documents (or pictures for that matter) that I could nicely save on the HD and possibly a freeware :-)But seems like a pretty dry zone...Another thing, maybe asking online ATCs when flying where to find the charts for current area...hmhm...
February 20, 200422 yr guys, I ment! lolDoes someone own Simplates? It seems like a very good package...
February 21, 200422 yr Hehe...that's one indeed good question. I got mostly the charts for my usual flights (EGLL, EHAM, and some other in Europe). But I was looking for a big site that would maybe contain lots of pdf charts from all over the world, but doesn't seem to exist :)
February 21, 200422 yr You can also get US charts here for free in PDF format:http://naco.faa.gov/ap_diagrams.asp-DrewKLGB
February 21, 200422 yr Thanks a lot! Those are pretty nice, but there are no stand listings. One of the things one needs when ATC tells you to park there and there...hmmz...There are surely excellent for taxiing.
February 21, 200422 yr This might help you out https://164.214.2.62/products/digitalaero/t...h/term_Main.cfmA lot of approach and airport diagram charts for countries other than the U.S., mostly military base charts for the U.S. airports though, for U.S. charts free go to http://myairplane.com/databases/approach/index.phpThey are in .PDF format, for the clearest viewing zoom them to 400% and copy, than paste into www.irfanview.com viewer and resize to about 1000 pixils high and save as .gif picture file. February 21, 200422 yr PDF is awesome, and the link is great, but still, doesn't show the airport gates and stands. Unfortunately! :(
February 21, 200422 yr They will give me the route to my parking and designate me the gate/stand, BUT they won't tell me "right right, now turn right" if you know what I mean :)One needs a chart to be able to see the "route" for taxiing exactly, if there are no signs available, though in all major airports in FS2004 signs ARE there...Anyway, would be nice to have those as a support. Professional support. I guess I'll have to buy Simcharts.
