Jetways do not respond at Flightbeam Studios' KSFO - KNOWN ISSUE

Featured Replies

JETWAYS won't move in Flightbeam Studio's very fine KSFO airport - KNOWN ISSUEHi all-I just 'discovered' that the Jetways (FSX) do NOT move (via CTL-J or any other key sequence or FSX command code) at the add-on airport from Flightbeam Studios "KSFO". Since it's by far the 'best looking' airport I own, I fly a lot of practice flights OUT of it, and never thought about the jetways, because I usually don't fly INTO KSFO. Lately I decided to do some VFR touch and gos in my 737NGX, and following a series of those I decided to taxi to a gate and hit the trusty side key on my Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog Throttle (pull towards me, the chime sounds signalling passengers and crew it is ok to stand up and deplane), push it away from me (at all OTHER airports) and the Jetway toggles**. Duh- when I pulled up to the San Francisco gate(s) - NO JOY. Finally after doing some searching on Google, I stumbled across the fact that this is a "KNOWN ISSUE" with this (otherwise) very fine aftermarket scenery airport. So it occurred to me that I should post in on Avsim, if only to spare someone else from the pain of wondering what he or she did to their system to cause the trouble! Since not all pilots fly Warthog hardware, I will try to find an additional spot on Avsim to post this. For those who wish to flame, i wasted enough time chasing my tail I'll take the flames - because I know a LOT of people use Flightbeam KSFO, and like me, they might not 'make the connection' that the jetways work at every OTHER airport except San Francisco (with the aftermarket scenery from Flightbeam Studios). Not a deal-breaker by any stretch, but surprising. I think it's because Flightbeam uses much higher-definition Jetways rather than the FSX 'default'.Best,Robert**The actions described above for the Warthog throttle quadrant buttons were programmed using Linda 1.11 (available free here on Avsim). You may elect to program different actions than the ones I chose. If you haven't looked at LINDA, I highly recommend doing so. Flexibility- and may save you having to buy excess 'real' MCP unit hardware because the common activities e.g. setting CRSE (both sides) HDG, ALT, SPEED, and so on may be accomplished with Linda (if you have a control surface like the warthog with buttons and switches a'plenty). Linda also allows you to select your own "shift" key (local for a specific controller or global for all controllers in use for a given aircraft). This effectively 'doubles' the number of programmable buttons and switches. Assign your AXES with FSUIPC, then use Linda for the buttons and switch assignments. Cake!

As stated, it is a known aspect of the product, and it is also true of Fly Tampa airports.

You need to have AES from Aerosoft for this feature to be "unlocked".

Explain about the AES product... "credits?" is it an ongoing pay-per-use thing with this item? Not real crazy about that model... have to do it with Navigraph to get the AIRACCs but not sure if having working Jetways at the one aftermarket airport I own is worth an ongoing cost that never is 'done'??Looks like a nice product, though.RSM
