Does matrox DH2G affect fps

Featured Replies

Hi all I am toyin with the idea of a Matrox dual head 2 go. Will it have any impact on FPS. I currently run 2 monitors but if i open a second VC view it hurts my FPS. Does DH2G fool my GPU into thinking i just have one big monitor therefor not hurting FPS.Alan

Matrox dual head 2 go
Why? they are expensive and both AMD (Eyefinity) and nVidia (Surround 3D) give you the same functionality, including bezel hiding, for free. The FPS hit you'll get is with a higher screen pixel count the CPU (yes, the CPU, this is FSX) will have to render a greater number of objects. Also your GPU will have to apply AA on that larger pixel count as well.Cheers,- jahman.

I own a 3head2go, there is a hit but with todays std PC its negligible, dont know why you would want a dualhead though

..I got read of TH2GO, got hit on the FPS, didn't like it at all

Just to be clear, the TH2GO doesn't itself decrease FPS: All it does is make your video crad thing you have a very large single monitor.Cheers,- jahman.

Just to be clear, it's not the TH2Go causing the drop in FPS, its the high resolution: If you had a single monitor with that same hugh resolution you would get the same drop in FPS).Cheers,- jahman.
