January 25, 201214 yr Hello AllI've a slight problem where the tail and logo lights of all of my AI (WoAI / manual / UT2) are very bright - as below (hopefully, you can just about make out the Ryanair logo)...Apart from that, all AI textures are fine, so I'm assuming that it's a problem with the xxx_l.bmp setiings ?Has anyone any ideas what adjustments (if any) are required to reduce the severity of the night lighting effects?Any help much appreciated.RegardsGary

January 27, 201214 yr Actually what would be nice is a canonical description (tutorial) on how aircraft exterior lighting works. You can find bits and pieces in different threads here and there, some of the better stuff is directed at developers but isn't easy to figure out for a user where the model is essentially a "black box" and we don't don't know what methods the dev used.Something along the lines of:this is what the emissive _l texture doesthis is what the effect doesthis is what spotlight.bmp does, etc.covering native fsx and fs9 port-overs.scott s..
