Re installing NGX

Featured Replies

HiJust wondering, I am about to do a fresh install of FSX and will be re installing the NGX.I have the base package and 600-700 expansion as well.It seems my download link has expired so no option of downloading latest most uptodate software inc service packs etc so I have to install from all the files I have downloaded locally since purchase including all the service packs and expansion packs hot fixess etc.So my questions is I know there is specific order this should be done but is there a reference to this any were as I do not know the correct order to install everything. Thanks

I've had this question as well. The way I understood it, was that the original RTM required SP1 to allow the 600/700 expansion to work?I did this and it seemed to work...Install RTM NGX 800/900.Install latest service pack (available on website). No need to find old SP's. They are all cumulative.Install 600/700 expansion.Should work.

Just went back and read RSRs post: Weekend Update 09DEC11: NGX SP1b Updates Availableand he states that you need both if you have the 600/700 expansion.Regards,

Hi RIck ok thanks, not wanting to labour the point but after spending the best part of 2 and a half days re installing FSX + addons I want to get the NGX right, so based on above I think the correct re install process will be either1) Base installer2) 737 -800/900 NGX Base Package SP1b3) 600/700 Expansion pack4) 737 -600/700 NGX Expansion Package SP1bor1) Base installer2) 737 -800/900 NGX Base Package SP1b3) 737 -600/700 NGX Expansion Package SP1b4) 600/700 Expansion packCan anyone confirm if any of the above is the correct order, thanks.

I don't have the expansion pack myself, but logistically i would say to install the package before the relative SP. This would mean using your first method.Maybe another expansion pack owner could chime in ?
