JAL Beechcraft Bonanzas

Featured Replies

Could somebody explain the Beechcraft Bonanzas owned by JAL that have US registrations? Are they trainers? I first saw them when Carenado came out with its A36 Bonanza, which included a JAL color scheme.Thanks,boeing247

Do you happen to know why JAL set up a training facility in the US? To train American pilots?

I'm not sure, Bram. Someone else will chime in, I'm sure. I had the idea US flight training was more affordable than it is in most other countries, airspace structure is more conducive to such operations, and certification for an FAA license is to a high standard. I've never thought about it.

To train their own japanese pilots. It's cheaper here and there's more room. Several Asian and European airlines send their ab-initios to train in the US. Even other militaries send their pilots to be trained in the US.

That makes sense. Thanks. Huh. Like Zach said, I've never thought about that... interesting.
