February 1, 201214 yr Compared to my older i7 920 that was OCed to 4.0ghz, my i5 2500k at 4.6ghz is getting worse performance in comparable situations. Both systems used my ATI 6950 2GB card. Only other difference would be the current 8gigs of ram (1600) vs. 6 with the i7 (1333). I must be missing something somewhere. A driver, a setting, a .cfg line that i7's like but i5's don't.Any ideas?

February 1, 201214 yr Author I've already done all that with my i7 920. I'll rerun Bojote's tool just in case though.
February 1, 201214 yr Just to verify, did you do a reinstall of Windows and FSX with the new hardware, or did you just swap hardware? Philip Manhart :American Flag: - "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." ~ Plato
February 1, 201214 yr Author Just to verify, did you do a reinstall of Windows and FSX with the new hardware, or did you just swap hardware?Swapped the hardware, cleared all the old drivers, installed the new MOBO's drivers + reinstalled my Gfx driver. Next step would be a full reformat I guess. Was hoping to avoid that.
February 1, 201214 yr I think that's the smoking gun then!Something quick to try would be to either delete or backup your fsx.cfg entry and let FSX rebuild it with your new hardware as well. But definitely start with a clean slate to ensure best performance.
