Add new AP to FMC Database

Hi all,my VA is doing some flights out of McMurdo sound. Having D/L and installed the required scenery,I started up the MD11 and tried to load the route NZWD - NZCH, which had been constructed using FSCom. But it would appear that NZWD does not exist in the PMDG Database.Hence the title of this post. I have figured out what needs to be added to the airports.data file, but cannot comprehend the units being used in the other files. Is there any definitive explanation on how to do this, been Googling for hours and cannot find any? Also I assume, that if the above can be done, when the next Airac cycle is installed it will wipe these additions out, correct?Regards JohnT

You have to add the runways to wpnavapt.txt, see the navdata data dictionary I added to the avsim forum last month. Note that I forgot to include the LOC frequency but it is almost obviouse that those digits immediately trail the longitude digits. Also, be aware that the MD11 only selects airports with runways that exceed a certain length, which is available in the flight manual I believe.

Hi Dan,cannot find the post you refer to, but is it the same information as posted in the PMDG support pages? Can see the values for Lat/Lon are in decimal format, but what units are used for RWY L/W and Altitude?. Seems tobe some big numbers to 5-6 dec places in the existing files. Also it mentions that the entrys are placed in ascending order, but I notice some entrys being prefixed with a minus sign. What if any is the significance of this ?Sorry a lot of queries, but you appear to be the only one with any idea on this subject. Many Regards JohnT

Hope this helps:

Hi Dan,apology for the delay in answering - real life interventions.Just to say, a mate and I managed to get the new AP into the Database - not easy is it?Needed to have AFX and FSCommander running to glean the required data and still ended up with the runways the wrong way round.Seems the stock AP has the error and the additional AFCAD had followed through with it - but heh makes life interesting. Thanks for the guidance.Regards JohnT
