February 6, 201214 yr Hello, this is one problem I have been experiencing ever since I have started heavily using vatsim. I use paywares like the PMDG NGX, 747 etc and vatsim which has caused freezing and then "windows trying to find a solution" then CTD and a program restart. This has been particularly painful with the fact that its during my VA flights and the PIREPS getting rejected. Any help? My settings are adjusted to the lowest realistic setting, doing better but nothing great. Yesturday I had done that fsx uiautomationcore.dll to uiautomationcore.dll.old thing, it was good I flew two flights- posky a330 two hours reasonable traffic, PMDG NGX 1 hour, good traffic and then without restarting done another route in the game and near the end it with good traffic again it froze, CTD and program restarted. My current specs are, windows 7 64bit intel core 2 quad CPU Q6600 2.40GHz 2.39GHz RAM 3327I was going to get 6GB ram (4+2) but since its the older edition it was much more expensive. Well Ill get it someday but in the mean time any recommendations? Thanks guys :D Joe Barton
February 6, 201214 yr Author I found out after the CTD that some other programs (anti virus etc) was consuming some memory and cpu. If I uninstall most of them would that help? Joe Barton
February 6, 201214 yr Please post the details of the CTD from the system log so we can take a look.Cheers,- jahman.
February 6, 201214 yr Author where would that be? Edited February 6, 201214 yr by captainklm Joe Barton
February 7, 201214 yr where would that be?Look in the Event Viewer. Click on the Start button, type event viewer in the search box and look up for Event Viewer in the menu. Click on it. Once open, look in Custom Views>Administrative Events then look for the crash info that occurred at the time and date of your fsx ctd's.Best regards,Jim
February 10, 201214 yr Author will it log event from the past 2 weeks? Im going to a vatsim event tomorrow so I really need to try my best to fix this. Any other advices? Joe Barton
February 10, 201214 yr Author I have thought of some things that may help1) anti virus and disabling them while using fsx2) disabling java and adobe while running fsx3) dust removal from machine (don`t know how to do it efficiently)4) removing lots of other programs5) even more setting reductions Joe Barton
