Heavy Aircraft of Choice: PMDG 777 or 747?
In terms of simulation its the 777 (until the 744 V2 comes out...) But hands down the 744 is still the ruler of the sky and has survived through a lot considering the world economy was that close to crashing in 2009 and aviation as a whole was struck quite badly :Applause:

Groundtrack vs wind drift correction on ND
I hate to question you even further with this but I recently started flying with the groundtrack corrections off and only having it display the heading and one of the challenges I have is following the ILS with crosswinds when manually flying. Normally you would just fly the runway's magnetic heading with the corrections but this is a bit more of a challenge. Is it just a case of trial and error or is there actually a mental mathematical equation that pilots use to correct and fly a certain true heading?

Groundtrack vs wind drift correction on ND
Honestly its their loss, and its the reason why I would be crossing my fingers that you would be on the case of answering my tech questions! The detail is not only interesting but certainly would benefit me for persuing a career in aviation, and understanding in depth what I'm working with! Kudos to you my friend

Groundtrack vs wind drift correction on ND
Hello folks, this is a quick question that applies to all Boeing aircraft. I have noticed that some airlines have their Navigation Display to show the groundtrack and the wind drift correction with a white tick over the top of the heading indicator, while some only show the heading the aircraft's nose is pointed at without the groundtrack. My question is, is it an airline selected option or can it be switched on and off with a switch somewhere in the cockpit or fmc? Many thanks.

Ladies and Gentlemen...the Boeing 777x
Unfortunately that`s the way this world works, whatever is good which we form likings around always gets replaced by something we dislike.

Ladies and Gentlemen...the Boeing 777x
In my humble opinion I don`t find any of Boeing`s future aircraft designs attractive from both pilot and aviation enthusiast points of view, the older models like the current 737, 747 and 777 is definitely something I would want to work with, all the next gen aircraft makes me reconsider a career in commercial aviation...

beta notes: You don't have time to fly longhaul? think again!
Personally I adore the auto step-climb feature, it means I don't have to actually be there to attend the longhaul flight, and the only times I have to fly the aircraft is the crucial parts. Good for the VA flying I do

Why does the NGX climb so slowly?
Hello everyone, as the title says, why does my NGX have a climb rate of a stone? This happens on a medium short haul flight (when wing tanks are full, load percentage is around 75%), it has a climb rate of 500 fpm and to get to FL380 or something similar it climbs to it, but by the time I reach that altitude or about to reach it, its my top of decent. My thrust mode is set to CLB (puts on around 90% N1), and to add to that problem, during cruise when my speed is low, cruise mode is unable to reach that speed (normally cruise maximum is at 89% N1) What am I doing wrong? This has only started now, as I have been off the 737 for a month or so, it happened a few times in the past, just not as bad Cheers

Boeing aircraft decent technique?

Boeing aircraft decent technique?
Hello all, I have another tech-question for you all, particularly the real pilots After watching a few of those "Just Planes" dvds, I`ve noticed that when the aircraft reaches its top of decent, it doesn`t use what I normally do, which is put the fmc altitude into the altitude window, and when the aircraft hits the T/D the VNAV does the decent. In the dvd, after atc commands them to, they decent (wether its passed the T/D or not) using the vertical speed function. Is that commonly done? Is the VNAV decent at the T/D used? As far as I know, there are three ways to initiate a decent, a) the VNAV, b )Vertical Speed bug and c) (Not sure if this is really used) the "Decent now) function in the fmc So to sum it all up, after seeing various different methods, which is the most commonly used procedure for a decent from cruising level to any assigned altitude? Thanks everyone!

Very quick question
Cheers for that everyone!

Very quick question
Hey there, just a quick question but I`ve noticed on an aircraft types icao, after the aircraft type theres some sort of letter (generally Q, F, L) etc etc. What do those letters at the end stand for or mean? Thanks!
