February 13, 201214 yr I spent the last day tweaking my settings in Xplane X. Did lots of experiments with the rendering options and found that sweet spot for my system. a good balance between Looks great, runs great. Im Very happpy. Did the same thing with Joystick settings and Ive got pitch and roll just where I like it. My only issue is with nose wheel steering. It seems fine taxing around. Once I start my takeoff role, the plane starts to pull to the right and I cant seem to compinsate. I almost always come dangerously close to the edge of the runway. I wanted to set up my rudder pedals for both yaw and nose wheel tiller, but cant seem to do both. Right now I have my joystick twist as nose wheel tiller and rudder pedals as yaw. Id like to have rudder pedals work both. How can I do this? Also, one last noob question (and this one is stupid, so bear with me), how do I turn on th einstrumnet panel lights on the Carenado bonanza? Im use to just pressing "l" in FSX. I cant seem to find the switch. lolRob
February 13, 201214 yr I've always seen the nose wheel steering coupled to the rudder commands (especially at stationary/ taxi speeds). In fact at taxi speeds I'd expect the rudder to be completely useless unless you have some prop wash blowing over it.The tendendy for the plane to pull one way or another on take off is expected on account of various things (particilarly with prop wash blowing past the taiilfin). I try and add throttle gradually on takeoff (especially on props). It helps, but I haven't got it fully mastered yet.

When you place the mouse cursor over them they will turn to up and down arrows, drag them up. The two smaller wheels under the larger wheels control the flood light in the cabin, drag them down to brighten. Actually to turn the floodlights on position the cursor between the wheels, you will get a hand, click it the floods come on then use the small wheels to adjust. I haven't really been successful with the flood, some time they will come on sometimes just barely or not at all.For the rudder control to work with the rudder pedals, you will probably have to disable the nosewheel tiller. Not real sure about that, but my rudder pedals work. One thing to note if you have any kind of a crosswind, the planes will windmill into the wind. It seems to me that they windmill into the wind much to easily on the ground in X-Plane, but if that is the only problem we have I can live with it. If the Bonanza is veering right, I suspect you have a strong crosswind component, again that is just a suspicion, if that is the case tone down the wind. :smile:Edit: I just set up my X52 joystick for the nose wheel tiller, and the rudder still works OK in the Bonanza, I can use either the nose wheel tiller or the rudder pedals to steer. I changed the wind too, with a 10 knot wind a few degrees of to one side or the other the plane does windmill into the wind, at ten knots it is quite controllable with either the tiller or the rudder pedals. February 13, 201214 yr There's a toggle nose-wheel steering command on the keyboard layout page. I think you need to add it though, as it's probably not there by default. Edited February 13, 201214 yr by Johnny Thunder
