February 17, 201214 yr Before upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 7 x64 I was able to allocate Sound to the Default Speakers and Voices to seperate Headphones, enabling me to hear ATC more clearly. Now however I have W7-64 and also installed Radar Contact and despite my `phones being recognised in the Options/sound/voices all sounds continue to come thru the main speakers alone.I would appreciate it anyone has some adviceMany thanksGeorge
February 17, 201214 yr Commercial Member there are some utilities out there, that allow you to map sound sources to sound output devices. i could give you a complicated, multi pc configuration that would work, but a lot of moving parts to get sound through headphonesjd JD Read my blog
February 17, 201214 yr Author If you could recommend any utilities for me, JD, I would be grateful as currently I find it difficult tofly with RC4 trying to hear the instruction over the engine and any other noise. Many thanksGeorge
February 17, 201214 yr Author I have temporarily gone back to the Default FSX ATC whilst hoping to hear about a possible `cure`and found that this works OK with ATC in Headphones and Other noises in Speakers. In one forum I read that RC4 is not played thru the FSX route and hopefully someone canadvise me how I play ATC in the RC wayGeorge
February 19, 201214 yr Don't forget in FS there is a mixer. Turn down the ATC slider fully and then the cockpit and other sound down where it is comfortable but softer than what you want RC to play at. These will not affect RC which plays through the .wav slider directly so by turning down the FS sounds in the mixer and then boosting the wav and master sliders you should get a mix as you desire from one audio output but FS sounds being softer than RC if that is your only issue.
