February 18, 201214 yr Yesterday, Feb 18th, I was doing some Google searches for someone here to help fix his/her problem. One of the links was to a FlightSim.com forum and it immediately displayed a request for my username/password over the forum post. I tried to cancel out or go back to my Google searches but it wouldn't let me until I entered the username/password (which I never provided). I couldn't even close my Internet Explorer so I simply shutdown my system and restarted. Hopefully they haven't been attacked too!Best regards,Jim

February 19, 201214 yr I tend to run my web browsers in Sandboxie for reasons such as this. As the name suggests, IE, Firefox, or whatever is being used, runs inside a sandbox. Anything that gets downloaded goes into the sandbox and stays there until you either move it out or delete it. I usually just delete the entire sandbox after each session.I don't suppose anything is totally secure, but it makes it very easy to deal with those insistent message boxes which try to stop you leaving a page - just right click the Sandboxie icon, select "delete sandbox," and all programs running inside it immediately terminate. Anything downloaded will vanish. As far as your PC is concerned, it it like it never happened.ISTR that Google Chrome has a sandbox function of some sort, but I don't have Chrome, so I don't know the ins and outs of it. Also, some AV suites now have sandboxes. Regards, PD
