For those of you who are taking Flight Factory Simulation's Saab 340 seriously http://www.flightfactory-simulations.com (as a release we can expect in our hands before Xmas of 2004), I would like to remind you to look at the time frame of other packages/updates like the promised Learjet 35 updates. We still don't have a VC for that aircraft nor any of the other features that were brought to our attention over a year ago. Look at the proposed Cirrus project and how long that's been on the drawing board. Seeing how long it takes this company to deliver if they deliver at all is a major problem for people who get soo exited over screen shots like posted in the above link. This company may get us a Saab for FS2k6 but FS2k4 is a long shot and that's just based on what I've seen so far. There site only has one release for FS2k4, Van's RV-7 which is a newer design that the year old promised Cirrus aircraft. People have been waiting for the Cirrus aircraft for quit some time now. The Learjet updates go without saying... Not trying to bad mouth FFS but I'm not holding my breath while waiting for a release from them.

Hey Dillon,Thanks for the honest point of view.Regarding the Lear panel, please check our forum, we have made an announcement in there. The Cirrus is, as far as I can tell, the most complex project ever undertaken for FS. The avionics are the part that are taking us a long time. We are modeling our own GNS430, as well as many other firsts we are not in liberty to discuss yet, due to NDAs signed with both Cirrus Design and Avidyne. But needless to say, this product will not only be used in the FS market, but for real pilot training, which is the reason Avidyne and Cirrus are both endorsing it. Avidyne, specially, has been providing us with some proprietary information to make sure the final product is 100% as accurate as the real one. I guess I could say this is far from your standard FS add-on.When we displayed the beta of the Cirrus at the Cirrus booth during EAA's AirVenture at Oshkosh, last July/August, we had a chance to see people's reactions to the real plane's PFD, who were sitting right outside the tent, and we had more than one airline captain, including a 744 driver, say "This is more complex than what I fly for a job", and well, it is. The displayed information on the Avidyne MFD is incredibly more complex than anything any airliner out there has.In the meantime, FFS needs to survive (two of us, for example, work only at FFS, all day long, every day), so other projects are undertaken until the Cirrus is finished. The RV-7 tok us three months. I am not speaking of release dates on the Saab, but you should be quite surprised by how fast she will be done. We have 14 Saab pilots in the beta right now, and the development is going very fast. In 2 and a half days, since the opening of the beta forum, we have more than 300 topics discussing all major systems and approaches towards FS. We are gonna allow the betas to post shots of the first beta, most likely, so you are gonna be able to follow the progress from the first beta on.But if you realy doubt our ability to make a plane like that in a short ammount of time, just check back in our forum, we post weekly reports i the General Discussions one of where we are with the Saab.

Hi Fabio,If its half as good as the Vans then, I am gonna get it, as for the time frame, take your time, 1 month enough for ya ;) !!!!!.I would certainly have no problems buying another FFS addon, the issues I had with the Vans were sorted out in such a way that I have never experienced before, with total courtsey and speed. If ya need a non SAAB pilot for the beta, I am sure I could make myself available ;) LOL.CheersDan.

Thanks Fabio for the response.... I'll be checking your forums for info on the Saab and updates as to where the project is at. I love the Saab commuter myself and didn't feel like getting my hopes up for something that would take months to a year before a release would be possible (much like the Cirrus project). I hope no offence was taken...I'll look for you post on what happened to the Lear project. Seeing as we don't have a high quality Lear35 in circulation, this too was another update I was looking forward to seeing completed. What you guys started was awesome, it just needs to get finished now (interactive VC, Cabin, etc.). So with that I've had enough letdowns from your company and wasn't looking forward to another one with the Saab...

Hey Dillon,Understandable, but I think you might be surprised with the speed we put the Saab out. 3 modelers and 4 programmers (compared to 2 modelers when the Lear was done) can accomplish quite a bit in little time :).Best regards,

Well that certainly is a nice VC, but this is what I accomplished after only 90 minutes in Gmax...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/66666.jpgGood fun, actually :)

Very nice, Ridge Runner! The panel sits at an angle though, just if you plan on going further with this.Best regards,

Thanks :) I just really liked your guys' renders, so I thought I would just kill some free time by making an attempt at it...
