February 19, 201214 yr hello,I have a question regarding placing a custom 3D object in my FSX.A few friends of mine have now finished the buildings for the airport I'm working on now, but now I can't get them into FSX. I have them converted to .mdl files and I have also created the librarys, but they don't show up in FSX. I have no idea how to use this now. Can someone tell me how to get my objects in FSX now?I'd be very thankful if I could get quick help from you.RegardsEmi Greetings from the 737 flightdeck!
February 19, 201214 yr Moderator Why not simply use ADE9X to place your .mdl file(s) at the airport? On, use Arno's tool to create a Library, then use that in ADE9X to place the buildings? Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

February 19, 201214 yr Moderator There is a several hundred page manual that describes every operation in very clear English with illustrations. Did you download that?http://www.mediafire.com/?9wqv5vj8sacnw1xIn any case, using a .mdl file directly is a two step process, the first of which is to locate the .mdl files:Step 1: Lists > Models to get the model list. Use the Add button to locate and add your mdl file to the project. Close the List. Step 2: Right Click > Add > Model Select your model. ADE should then be able to place it. Whenever you compile the airport, the .mdl files will become part of the airport's .bgl file. Be certain to copy/paste the building's textures into the ..\Texture folder associated with the ..\Scenery folder where the airport .bgl file(s) are kept! Fr. February 20, 201214 yr I also recommend ths method, if the objects are custom and not going to be used elsewhere. From what I've seen, FSX wastes a lot of time opening and looking at library bgl files so if there is no need to use a library, just compile into the main airport or other bgl.scott s..
