February 21, 201214 yr I'm sure people have asked about this before: Is there a way to stop REX from re-loading the weather into FSX every 5-10 minutes? It's nice to have the real-time weather, but as long as I have global, real-world weather, I'm happy--I don't need it updated every few minutes.Thanks,boeing247 -Bram Osterhout
February 21, 201214 yr i reckon you'd be better asking this over at the REX forum.they'll give you a workaround if there is one.http://www.realenvir...eme.com/forums/you will need you REX order number in your Sigsteve-0 Edited February 21, 201214 yr by stevehowe REX SKYFORCE 3D steve howlett
February 21, 201214 yr It should not reload that often, unless you have it set to a short distance. In the configuration screen, you can set how often it updates the weather by miles traveled. However, be aware currently, it will still automatically re-inject weather after 30 minutes no matter what distance you have set.I understand that will be changed with the new Essentials update when it is released...But yes, as Steve mentioned, you will get much better info on the REX forums, and those guys are great at support and responding quickly... February 22, 201214 yr Hey mate, I'm using REX and I start it up when I sit down to a session, once its uploaded the data into FSX I shut it down again (I never leave it running in the background). The weather won't update during the session but I don't get the intermittent pauses...it always tends to happen during a landing...go figure!

February 23, 201214 yr No, I'm pretty sure that once the weather has been updated to FSX you don't need to run REX in the background any more.Keep in mind though that the weather will from then on stay static and will not change.Best way to confirm this is to try it out, i haven't specifically confirmed this myself but I use this technique all the time and I haven't notice FSX reverting back to the old FSX weather assets.I think I might try this tonight when I get home. I'll let you know what I see / don't see!
