February 23, 201214 yr I have just ordered Toshiba SL 755 (i5 2430m / 4 GB / 15.6 / 1 GB 525m ) and it should hopefully arrive tomorrow.I need advice from members who have knowledge of mobile SB and how good can they be OCed too.I am going run FSX / XPX on this system. February 23, 201214 yr I don't think you will have any OC settings in the BIOS to mess with. Not that you want to OC a laptop anyway. It should run FSX OK at 1366x768

I have another question too , I am also planning on upgrading my sig desktop GFX card to HD 6750 you think I would benefit some in FSX ? I have one installed right now and can't really run any AA / AF, so a HD6750 would be a massive upgrade, it's like 5 - 6 times faster a GPU than the HD5450

February 23, 201214 yr It would perform close to the current Athlon of mine , well that's sounds bad , I thought the SB give a better performance CPU wise.Keep in mind it's a mobility I5 2430m Sandy Bridge, runs at 2.4GHZ (2.7 with turbo) and is a dual core. A 4.7GHz 2500K would be like twice as fast. But again, don't take your current performance as a reference cause you're probably GPU limited

February 23, 201214 yr Author Yes, 3GHz for 1 core, 2.7GHz with 2 cores in use, below max temps & TDPOuch, anyway thnx dazz Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus

February 23, 201214 yr Well, it´s OK, I use Bojotes Tweak Tool, and the ext. FPS Limiter.Sliders a bit lower than with the i5 - but it´s def. playable performance.I think you will be positively surprised at how good the new generation notebook CPU's perform!Heat is a problem though, CPU temps at 85C max., but I'm looking for a good coolerpad, should reduce the temps I hope...GPU is not clocked though, FSX is CPU bound. February 23, 201214 yr GPU is not clocked though, FSX is CPU bound.Yes. FSX is "CPU intensive" but no, it's not always "CPU bound". My GPU overclock gives me 4 FPS when in heavy clouds with my current AA setting of 8xS 2xSGSS at PHNL runway 04R. February 23, 201214 yr You're right (my "bad" english) - I agree...I've burned two GPU's already, tried running them at 800/1100 like many other users, unfortunately I can't, dunno why!But a conservative, mild overclock at 725/1025 seems to be OK, knock on wood.. :mellow:Another reason for overclocking the GPU on the G73JH, is that you cannot manually control the fan speed, hopefully the overclock will kickstart the fan and get some much needed airflow going...Heat, too much heat!
