Slow objects/texture loading in specific scenerys

Hi to all.First off, I've tried browsing the fora here for answers, but found that none of them worked for me. I've also posted at Aerosofts fora, but without luck. I've now submitted a support ticket with them, but as await their response, I would love to hear anyones thoughs on this. I've qouted my post in Aerosofts forums, as it does the job:"Hi Aerosoft.This is regarding Oslo X, Trondheim X and Stavanger X.The runway lights (both sidemarkings and approach lights) as well as taxi signs, appear only when very close. The runway approach lights appear only when on 2nm final, and the taxisigns appear only 30 meters or so from them. Regarding runway lights, they appear gradually as I approach the airport. Seemes like they appear when within a certain range. The runway sidemarkings appear in pairs as I get closer.Pausing the sim won't make them appear.I've checked default airports as well as Amsterdam Mega Airport with no problems.So, LOD is set to max, and Scenery Complexity is max also. Autogen is dense. Other sliders are far to to the right, but I've also tried moving them way to the left, without any positive result. I always have cloud draw to 60 nm below FL100.I have a smooth running FSX otherwise, and the approaches into these scenerys are smooth (also Oslo - lol).I searched the forums at AVSIM, and found various suggestions to tweaking the CFG. Ok - so I just wanted to add some pics to with this:No 1 is taken on approach and you can see how the lights are slowly starting to load/appearenvaapproach1.jpg No 2 is taken over the airport, and you can see that not even while directly over it, are the approach lights fully loaded in the apposite end:envaapproach2.jpgSo I also discovered, that the angle of view had an impact on how the lights were displayed. The folowing shots are around the same location as no 1, but this is in slew mode, and you can see how the angle makes more lights appear, regardless that the distance to the actual objects are the same, No 3:envaslew1.jpgAnd now see how more lights along the rwy is beeing displayed, no 4:envaslew2.jpgHope anyone has an idea...Mas

For starters, your GTS 250 video card is not up to par with your 2500K @4.5 GHz.You should seriously consider an upgrade!

LOD is set to max
No, your LOD is set to:
LOD_RADIUS=4.500000
  1. Increase your LOD radius (but your FPS could suffer because of your video card.)
  2. And your Affinity Mask should be set to 14.

The BIGGEST, by far - problem is the video card. @Paul J and Jahman:First thx for your thougts..I've everything you suggested Paul, but I found that it gave me shimmering issues, and did not affect the loading of the lights (the wierd thing is, that I can see the 3D lightpoles are loaded, but the lights are not). I startet with 4xs (after applying your CFG-tips) and worked my way up, but the shimmering didn't disappear until 8xSQ was in force...As I said - the sim is running smooth as ever - no other glitches in graphics or anything, it's only those damn lights!A question though - Paul J, you highlighted ENB series in my specs - could that be the issue you think?But anyways - thx for your help!I'm totally aware that the GTS250 is a bottleneck in my system, but I'm not having the funds at the moment to upgrade - but that will be the next item for sure!Mas

Hi Bartlomiej...Interesting - I just found that the problem now persists only at Tronheim!?? So something must have changed in the course of my previous posts, even though I'm sure I reverted back to my startingpoint - not very trusy, I know, but that is the case however...I'm not suffering from blurry textures at all, and as I can understand from your own topic, you didn't fix the lights issue, correct?thx for your input however! It's just strange that it's only at 1 airport now?Mas

No - I don't think the ENB alone would cause the issue - I know it's a frame hog, and if the lights are not being drawn because of too much data to the 520 - then my aim would be - and is, in your case - to reduce the amount of data being pushed. That should should then allow you to move the LOD slider upwards. If you can't do that because your Inspector settings are too high, or your traffic, Autogen or mesh complexity are too high, etc., then we need to bring it all downwards, then work back up to fix the problem. Of course - you may end up with great runway lights, but can't run autogen or heavy clouds!Personally, Mas - I wouldn't let something like this bother me, as we know the gpu is inadequate - no matter how much effort you put into this - I don't expect this will be fixed to your satisfaction until you do get a better gpu. Something will always be 'wrong' with FSX. Even at 4.9-gig and a 580 - I can still put together a config which will put the pc on it's backside! :(

Paul - thx for our input. And I must say that i've come to the same coclusion about this... It's 1 airport, and everything else is great for me. And when I think back to what my FSX looked like a few years ago...? Man have we come some way!!I still wanna thank you for your help - much appreciated!
