February 25, 201214 yr Hey guysSo, Saitek pedals are a more expensive than the good old CH Products pedals here in Brazil. Let me ask you, which one you think is better, based on how it feels compared to a real life pedal, and build quality. People seem to like Saitek nowadays, but I don't like the build quality of their Yoke, but I never tried the pedals. CH I know is considered top qualityThanks Alexis Mefano

People seem to like Saitek nowadays, but I don't like the build quality of their Yoke, but I never tried the pedals. CH I know is considered top qualityThanksI have tried both companies. I have to say that the Saitek pedals seems to have a more realistic feel to them due to the tension adjustment knob.My CH pedals died on me only after 2 years of occasional use. My Saitek pedals have been going strong for 2 and a half years now without any problems.
February 25, 201214 yr CH Pedals are built like a truck (literally, each pedal rides on a 4-wheeled truck inside the case.)Unfortunately the way they are built also means they have a strong center detent, and this is bothersome for some fols (not me though).CH Gear is also easy to replace the pots when they get worn (soldering iron required.)Cheers,- jahman.
February 25, 201214 yr Author Thanks guys. Centering isn't very nice, but I can live with that I think. Alexis Mefano
February 25, 201214 yr I have owned both.CH is very sturdy, but feels less real than Saitek. It also has a very strong detent, which bothered me btw. CH also has this "plump" feeling, once you move them, it's very funny movement if you ask me - there is no harder force the more you push, something Saitek has.Saitek are way more real to life, but way less "stable" than CH - pedals are a bit loose and brakes are better on CH, but Saiteks are doable. The center detent is also way weaker - for me a reason to get Saitek again if they break after 2 years (inside of 2 years you have a warranty replacement).IMO, Saitek is the way to go. But of course, both have advantages or disadvantages. If you really want good pedals, get PFC ones, that should be as real as it gets for flight simulation enthusiast. And they last a lifetime.
February 26, 201214 yr Author If I were to pay big money for a Pedal set, this is the one I would go for.http://www.dhs-electronic.de/index2.php?id=215&lng=enWell, seems Saitek are more realistic then CH ones. That's bad for me, since they are more expensive here as well.. And I know the construction quality with them isn't that great Alexis Mefano
February 26, 201214 yr Can you buy and then return if you don't like?I'll hold of recommending PFC for now, my yoke should come next week.
February 26, 201214 yr Author If you're talking about the Saitek and CH. No, I can't. And I can't test it either, since it's not a retail store where I would find them. That's the big issue.PFC must be wonderful hardware equipment. I wouldn't get a Yoke unless it's a PFC, Saitek and CH don't have the feel of a real yoke, not even close I bet. I love my Thrustmaster Warthog, it has that real feel to it, it's all metal. Alexis Mefano
February 26, 201214 yr If I were to pay big money for a Pedal set, this is the one I would go for.http://www.dhs-elect...p?id=215&lng=enThat one has Hall effect sensors, so they last forever.Would love to find a supplier of field-installable Hall effect sensors modules to replace the 100K linear pots on my CH gear.and CH don't have the feel of a real yokeAnd they don't have the price of a real yoke either! :LMAO:Seriously, we all know this. The issue is to what extent the CH and Saitek gear is useable.Cheers,- jahman.
February 27, 201214 yr I'll hold of recommending PFC for now, my yoke should come next week.Be sure to do a review and get some pictures. I am eager to hear how it is!
March 7, 201214 yr Author I bought the SimPed Rudder Pedals, not the F16 thought, the simpler version with no brake.I'll let you know how I like it when it gets here Alexis Mefano
March 24, 201214 yr Why would you get a pedal without toe brakes?Hmm... Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
