February 28, 201214 yr hi!I have a problem... when im on final, AES2012 updates the wind, and i often get blown away...this is really annoying, is there any way to avoid this?/Niklas Niklas Eriksson
February 29, 201214 yr Moderator Are you sure it isn't wake turbulence? Turn off wake turbulence in th eOptions section and see if that helps.Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
March 1, 201214 yr hi!I have a problem... when im on final, AES2012 updates the wind, and i often get blown away...this is really annoying, is there any way to avoid this?/Niklas As Vic noted, wake turbulence and wind shear will cause this effect. If you are running in Standard mode, make sure that "use local range suppression" checked and set to the appropriate altitude for your purposes (default is 10,000 feet - I use 2,000),DJ
March 4, 201214 yr Author Im sure it wasnt wake turbulence, I am flying online on IVAO(Ivao weather is disabled) And there wasnt another A/C on the airport at the time...and on a later flight my active sky 2012 winds actually goy quite bananas... constant 11 kts... but the direction turned 360 degrees, "lap after lap after lap" making it almost impossible to land...Is there any way to avoid this? It has been my experience that wake turbulence in AS doesn't require the presence of another aircraft... once again, if you have it enabled turn it off or very low. Do you mean that the wind direction essentially was spinning around the clock very quickly? If so, the next time you see it please pause and dump your AS logs; then submit a trouble ticket along with your flightplan, logs, and the location of the aircraft - this has been seen in testing and I'm not sure it was fixed because it is difficult to reproduce.DJ
March 5, 201214 yr Author Ill try to turn the waketurbulence off and see if that helps,! And yes thats exactly how it did act, wind direction spinning around, it did that during the whole final approach phase, so at least for 5 minutes with the wind speed constant at 11kt... How do i get the log from active sky? So i can be prepared the next time:-) Niklas Eriksson
