March 1, 201214 yr Okay so considering flight1 can't seem to help me with this maybe you can. I bought the ATR from them in 2009 and in august I bought my new desktop, I didn't realize until yesterday that you can download the fs9 version again and convert it to fsx for free. So I read up on what to do and they tell you how to install the FS9 version of the ATR on your machine if you don't have FS9 installed (like me). It said to create a fake FS9 folder in your C drive and then inside that make a fake FS9.EXE file, they suggested just naming a text document 'FS9.EXE' so that's what I did, then I went to the reinstall option, gave my reg key, all fine and accepted, then it got to the installation stage and I told it where to find my FS9 file, (the fake one) but then it came up saying FS9 location invalid and aborted the installation. I've contacted flight1 but for some reason they just repeated what I already knew. All I want to do is install the FS9 version of the ATR so I can convert it to FSX for free, flight1 says its possible and thats what I'm hoping for but so far no luck.Hopefully someone can help me because I don't want to pay $45 more for a product I already own! Thanks FAA Multi Commercial Pilot/Flight Instructor
March 1, 201214 yr I wonder if making a whole new folder heirarchy would help... FS9 used to install (by default) to C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesMicrosoft Flight Simulator 9 I think.... maybe try placing the fake exe in there? | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
March 1, 201214 yr Commercial Member haztronic,I am assuming you have the CD version? If you are not able to get it running via the method on the product page, I can supply you a key for the FSX. Just respond back on the ticket and let me know there and I can give you additional instructions to get you up and flying again. March 1, 201214 yr You DO know there's an "FS9.exe" located in the FSX root folder, don't you? I think you will be able to create an FS9 folder - something like "Flight Simulator 2004", put this in the root, then create an "Aircraft" folder inside the new folder, and that should work - I've done this a number of times without issue. If I remember correctly - that's how the MAAM-Sim FS9 B25 gets unpacked, before being moved into FSX. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.

March 2, 201214 yr I have an executable FSX installation file (Flight1ATRFSX.exe) that I got from Flight1, I do not use the "conversion" files. Also, I use Safe Mode when installing only otherwise the plane will lock up a few minutes into flight.
March 2, 201214 yr Author Jeff kindly just sent me a new reg key for the FSX version but I keep getting an issue now that whenever it gets to the install part, it just sits there at 0% and doesn't respond. I don't get why. When I bought the Level D 767 from flight1, it installed fine. FAA Multi Commercial Pilot/Flight Instructor
