This one is kicking my butt man.I can finally get it to touch down on the runway, but I always seem to run out of runway and it tips over and of course fails the challenge... Guess I am pretty much going to have to just stall it right over the edge of the runway end somehow.

DId you ever manage it? I eventually got gold on it. All realism settings on hard, EXCEPT for smooth braking. I needed the smooth braking on this strip. I do not have the gear to brake smooth without it. I just have an all-or-nothing button.I actually managed it by coming in fast at about 72-75 kts, and concentrating on hitting soft and the middle. Worry about the consequences of this after you touch. It also helps to get angry :LMAO:Skim the tree tops and dive right down in idle as soon as you are past the tree tops.

That's the worst challenge of them all. I tried a lot of times and finally got silver and unlocked the last livery. That challenge is an absolute nightmare.The thing I hate about Stearman challenges is it gives you points based off horizontal speed which isn't variable at all. I think a perfect +500 points is around 65mph regardless of the landing situation.. That last challenge you have an insane headwind.. 65mph combined with that headwind was forcing you to push the aircraft into the ground if you wanted the right points.. On the other hand if you went "against the rules" and tried landing with the wind at your back you practically had to drop out of the sky on the runway to get the right bonus for horizontal speed.

Heck no, I pretty much gave up on it for the short term, will eventually go back and put in some more efforts. Neat thing about this sim, you can put things like this on the bottom shelf and come back to it another day , plenty of other stuff to do.Thanks for the tips, especially on the smooth braking option - I would not have thought of that one!My hat is off to you for getting the Gold on this one - that is one major achievement!
