March 5, 201214 yr OK, been experimenting with Flight. Did the first two missions, got the free flight menus etc. Checked into LIVE and filled out a bio etc.Restarted Flight to do a free flight, click on flight icon and nothing appears to happen however when viewing my task manager processes I see that flight is running, slowly loading up. Nothing shows on my monitor, then after about 10 minutes all of a sudden the flight main screen shows. Just pops onto my screen.I am loading a flight right now but nothing is showing yet and I can type this post.Anyone have this experience, is this normal? Doesn't seem right. Now what do I do? March 5, 201214 yr Try clicking / hitting ESC when you get the black screen after starting Flight.Flight has a intro video made in silverlight (if I'm not mistaking) - may not properly render for some reason (silverlight update?)Happened on my notebook, fixes the issue.

If I started up the program without the joystick plugged in then it would come to that intro black box and then crash never lettting me into the game. But for some strange reason when I plug the joystick in it comes to the intro black screen and then starts up just fine. I wonder if Silverlight could be an issue.

I wonder if Silverlight could be an issue.Silverlight is some technology related to multimedia (you may look at it as MS's attempt to reinvent the wheel, in this case Adobe Flash) and runs sandboxed -> shouldn't have anything to do with gaming input devices. In theory.Could be another issue on your system that may cause this behavior - I wonder if anyone else gets it.On the other side, if you found the way around the glitch - one more happy virtual pilot on the go.
March 5, 201214 yr Author Well its totally weird. It takes about 10 minutes for the game to launch, which seem extremely long to me, longer than my FSX. I have an i7-920 system, 19gig ram, GTX260 video card, plenty of power to run this thing. So you sit thinking that nothing is happening (but the task manager shows its slowly loading) and then all of a sudden it show the intro screen, click here to start. March 5, 201214 yr This could be a driver issue for me. My Nvidia drivers are out of date. I'm going to try the Nvidia 295.73 drivers when I get home tonight and see it that fixes my crashing issue.
March 5, 201214 yr Author OK now that's an idea, guess it wouldn't hurt to see if updated drivers help. Bryan Wallis aka "fltsimguy" Maple Bay, British Columbia Near CAM3
