Post SP1c No FMC Tab to enter text

Featured Replies

Post-SP1c I can no longer hit TAB to activate the green FMC text entry box. When I click TAB the green rectangle appears for a fraction (< 1/2 sec) and goes away again. Text cannot be entered. I can still click on it to enter text.I have checked that it is turned on in the options page of the FMC.I have turned it off and on to see if it reappears, as pre-SP1c this would happen with the throttle indicators and this fixed it.Can't take a screenie as it (the green box) isn't there (if you see what I mean) If necessary I can shoot some video and post that.bestjake

I can get the green box to stay if I hold the TAB key down. It goes away when I release the tab key. Anyone else see this?BestJake

Mine seems the same as it ever was.. No problems with that so far.I used it just a while ago on a run from Hobby to Love..One thing though.. I don't hit TAB.. I believe I just double click the mouse onthat spot if I remember right.. Either one or two clicks, but I think maybe two..

The tab has always been a momentary switch as oppossed the click spot.

Direct Entry Mode has never worked in any other way than by holding Tab down - think of it like holding Shift down to type capital letters.

Yeah you have to hold Tab while typing. The alternate way is to click on the scratchpad with your mouse, that turns it on and it stays until you click it again (this gets frustrating when you use spacebar to move your view, but what you gonna do).

Really?! I must have ben dreaming then..I could swear I used it before..I'm not trying to find bugs, honestly! On a side note and I'm sure I've seen this answered somewhere but can't find it: is it possible to "isolate" the FSX keys while the text entry box is active? For some reason it doesn't affect lellers, only numbers, but when i type in numbers it activates whatever control I have assigned to that number (in my case a load of EZDOK views) As I say; not so with letters for some reason (maybe I don't have enough letter asignments)Thanksjake

I just use the 3 on the numpad to turn off EZDOK before I start typing. Then turn it on again after. Same when using GSX menus.
