March 6, 201214 yr Went to EDDF after the beta 7 update, my first time in Europe. :smile:Try taking of on runway 25R it will give you a lurch in the stomach. I didn't know that one could get a flippy tummy watching pictures. If you have stereographic 3D, (anyglyph won't work in X-Plane), the sensation is even more pronounced. If you are landing the Duchess there better have your speed as low as you can get it or she won't take the bounce when taxiing to a stop!! March 6, 201214 yr While I didn´t download the last beta yet (still on a trip away) - I can only imagine that this problem is the same that haunts the original (non aerosoft) EDDF in both XP9 and XP10.Runway 25R/07L was just built recently. There was a forest and a big hump or hill right in it´s place. They cleared away the hill for the runway, you can still feel it on the adjacent taxiway (in real life)...So XP´s elevation model is older than that. They still have the hill, so if your "runways follow contours", you will get a big rollercoaster ride on 25R...One solution is to turn that option off, but then you loose the sloping runways. You could re-enable it after take-off, I think.Other than that we can only wait for a new elevation model. I thought there were plans to "flatten" terrain within airports boundaries automatically, but you can only do that to a certain extent - too much and you loose the nice sloping that a lot of airports have in reality.Jan
March 6, 201214 yr Author I hope they don't change it, makes a nice diversion. :( Donald E. Donovan Flying is the 2nd greatest thrill known to man The 1st is landing.
March 6, 201214 yr Actually it´s a runway for landing only. No takeoffs there. On the other hand runway 18 (west) is a takeoff runway only.FloEDDF Flo B.
