Flight Planning & Performance Manual (FPPM)

Featured Replies

This is strictly just a question asking if specific information is available, nothing more!If I step on any toes here it wasn't intended, just looking for some data.I'm trying to build a custom FSBuild profile for the -800 NGX.FSBuild comes with a performance profile for a default 737-800 w/ CFM56-7B26 engines, so I have a place to start...but I wanted to verify the data tables in this default profile with the data from the FCOMs which I thought had the performance data included in them.I've looked through FCOMv1, specifically the Performance Dispatch and Performance Inflight sections for the -800, but I'm not seeing the same type of data that the FSBuild data tables are asking for.@ Tabs: I was searching for information about the performance data and I ran across a couple posts you made in summer of last year.

The full performance data will be included with the NGX - there's absolutely no reason they shouldn't have it as long as they create the profiles for it. This won't be like the MD-11 where they had to run their own tests to obtain the data due to us not being allowed to publish the data.
Hi Ryan,What was sensitive about the data for the MD11, given that is not being developed or manufactured anymore? Thanks, Bruce.
It was a legal thing with Boeing, can't really go into it. We resolved the issue with the NGX though.
But, in the Tutorial #2, it says this: "In real life, airline dispatchers use very sophisticated software that effectively has the aircraft’s performance data and path solver integrated into the application. Boeing produces a document called the Flight Planning & Performance Manual that contains tables upon tables that describe this data. This data was used in creating the PMDG 737NGX, but we weren’t allowed to include the FPPM unfortunately."So I'm guessing that the data you were talking about last summer when comparing it to the MD-11 is the same data that was supposed to be in the FPPM that Boeing wouldn't let you include? Or am I totally wrong? If I'm right, I would guess that originally you couldn't include the MD-11 data because the military used the DC-10 to develop the KC-10, and now that the Navy is using the NG to model their P-8A you aren't able to give us the performance data because it's probably classified now through Boeing?Or maybe it is in the FCOM and I just completely missed it.

Airline companies usually get the FPPM in digital format these days.It is very advanced software and is mostly used for dispatch. Basically speaking, it is a huge database.Fred.

Agreed, a first officer friend of mine that is on the A320 for ACA says all that info comes from flight ops, they just enter it.
