March 10, 201214 yr Hello Bryan,FS2Crew is working great apart from a couple of small hiccups which I hope to sort through in the near future. But upon "Runway Entry Procedure" and "Okay To Clean Up" phases the PNF does attempt to set the NGX's transponder to mode Charlie (TA?RA) but then it immediately returns to Standby position. The same procedure works fine in the iFlyI can manually use the NGX transponder switch to select TA/RA and have IvAp's transponder set to mode Charlie so communication between the NGX and IvAp are working correctly. Is there any chance you can look into this for me please ?Thanks in advanceAdam Adam James Thermaltake Armor + | Thermaltake Tough Power 1500WT PSU | i7 920 @ OC'd 3.8Ghz | GA-EX58 Extreme | Watercooled | 18GB DDR3 @ 1600 @ 9-9-9-28 | GTX580 SOC | OCZ 120GB Agility 3 SSD for FSX, | Windows7 x64Bit RTM | 4x AOC 22" LCDs @ 1680x1050 |
March 10, 201214 yr Commercial Member Adam,Will look into it.Can anyone else confirm this with Squawkbox too? B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
March 10, 201214 yr Author Thank you,FYI , with the Transponder already in TA/RA mode Charlie, FS2Crew does switch the transponder back to standby in both IvAP and the NGX without any issues. So for some reason between the iFly version and this NGX version there is an issue in the value returning to null when trying to set the transponder. Will try it now without IvAp and see if it remains on TA/RA.Thanks again. March 10, 201214 yr Author Hi Again Bryan,Here is a small video showing what FS2Crew is doing ,http://youtu.be/WFyz82tjxLII hope this helps you pinpoint the problem. Thanks in advance Adam James Thermaltake Armor + | Thermaltake Tough Power 1500WT PSU | i7 920 @ OC'd 3.8Ghz | GA-EX58 Extreme | Watercooled | 18GB DDR3 @ 1600 @ 9-9-9-28 | GTX580 SOC | OCZ 120GB Agility 3 SSD for FSX, | Windows7 x64Bit RTM | 4x AOC 22" LCDs @ 1680x1050 |
March 10, 201214 yr Commercial Member Hi Adam,Thanks for the video.I'll check into it.I'll probably release a hot fix in a week or so.The release has gone very, very well, but there's always a few little bugs that get missed.Cheers, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
March 10, 201214 yr Author Yes of course just like any software so please don't be too hard on yourself nor think that we are coming across strong with expectations to have it completely and utterly bug free for everyone on every system. We all appreciate your efforts and we are grateful to finally have FS2Crew available for the NGX which I haven't stopped flying since early this morning ... lol (5th leg)I hope the video serve's its purpose, there is nothing worst than having someone like me telling you there is something wrong without actually showing some type of demonstration. If the beta team also use IVAO then well in good, if not, I'll be happy to work with you when you find the time to create a fix and need it tested. Thanks again for this wonderful interaction with the best aircraft available for MSFS!! March 10, 201214 yr Author UPDATEOk so I can confirm that without starting IvAp, FS2Crew does set the TR/TA mode on the transponder and it does stay in that position until landing. So it must be something within the coding that communicates with IvAp ?IvAp is set to default settings in the config so CTRL+F11 is the key assignment for SQ mode Charlie and SQ mode Standby. March 10, 201214 yr Commercial Member Damien just tested it in Squawkbox and it worked fine in Squawkbox. No issues.I never personally tested it using the Ivao pilot client, however... it may just be a weird issue with the Ivao pilot client itself.FS2Crew uses offsets to communicate with the Ivao pilot client, the same ones used to talk to Squawkbox. March 10, 201214 yr Author Ok thanks Bryan,Funny though cause the IFly works fine with the PNF switching the transponder on and off.I flew the iFly online yesterday and it works a treat, and I assume its the same coding for the NGX so it has me baffled...I shall keep researching the issue and report back if I find anything obvious. Thanks again. March 10, 201214 yr Commercial Member There's a difference between the iFly aircraft and the PMDG 737 NGX aircraft. The iFly can talk directly to Squawkbox/IVAO xponder, but the PMDG can't. PMDG said:"Until/unless the IVAP application can be operated through simconnect without using FSUIPC, no- we won't be fixing that"However, using FSUIPC, I tried to fill that void for PMDG.Cheers, B.
