March 11, 201214 yr I am moving to a WideFS setup with the client PC an HP laptop with a 1.2 gig processor and 1 gig of memory. I will be running IYP on the client also. Because I have to plug the mic and headphones into the client PC I want to move RC there to avoid the RC sound coming out of the speakers on the Server PC. But first does anyone know of a circumvention that would allow RC to stay on the Server PC and still have the RC sound through the headphones or see any issues with moving RC to the client?
March 11, 201214 yr I have WideClient, IYP and RC4 running on my client PC and using the headphones/mic on the client also. No problems at all. Really takes a burden off of the host computer running FSX.I do have IYP and RC4 on the host PC but I do not run them from there at all. If I remember correctly you will have to get a new id code from JD to install RC4 on the client.
March 11, 201214 yr If you have only done a couple of RC installs the automatic registration should work for the client. Be sure you use the same e-mail address as in your initial; registration/order.If there are any changes in e-mail or user name it will have to be handled manually.Be sure jdtllc.com is allowed through your ISP and pc spam filters.
March 12, 201214 yr Not sure if your using FS9 or FSX, I use FS9, and if your headset is a usb one, you can make only RC voice come out of the headset, and all other aircraft sounds come out of your PC speaker setup. What I do is start FS9, using my default SoundBlaster setting. After FS9 is up and running I go back to my sound control and choose the USB headset as my default, and then start up RC4.....Not sure if this works in FSX..........let me know if this works for you. And just remember to change sound control back to your default after quiting RC4 and FS and before you start anything else..........good luck
