As far as crash effects/explosions - well, MS with all their franchise of civilian flight sims, have chosen not to really model that. Sure if you hit the ground hard enough for it to be considered a crash, you will get a message to that effect. But you are not going to see explosions, flying debris, fire raging - things that you might see an other types of games.

I personally do not mind this - for me simulating a civilian airliner crash complete with fire, explosions, flying debris, like what is seen in the video above, does nothing for me, in fact turns my stomach really, as that then is simulating innocent men, women and children, losing their lives in a horrible tragedy. But that is just me..

 

Do you think it would be more realistic if the crash effect was on there?
