Raised rivers

Featured Replies

Hi.I've just finished installing fsx genesis + nextmap, utx, gex and rex2.0But I was dissapointed when I saw all those raised rivers in the landscape. Is their a good way to fix this?Ps. I can live with the airport platforms.Grt

I use UTX EU, and with FSG mesh (which is great) I find that many UTX water features are at the wrong height, although mostly too low, so not that much of a problem.I'm pretty sure there are some settings in the UTX setup interface to allow you to set the levels of rivers etc relative to the surrounding land. That may help some.

Thx. Does somebody knows if it is the offset value I have to use in utx? A simply save is enough?

Hi mateif you go to GEX forums over at simforums and find Nick N's setup fsx page.look down and i'm sure he tells you the river heights to set in utx setup options.plus loads of other things that make things look even better.should have everything you need to setup UTX correctly.http://www.simforums...topic29041.htmlsteve-0

Note that in FSX terms, there are "rivers" which are bodies of water (waves, reflections, etc) and the elevation is set in the bgl file that defines them. Then there are "streams" which are textures "painted on" to the terrain. The offset lowers the mesh slightly under the textures. This offset can be adjusted in UTX config util.scott s..

That's interesting - I didn't realise there was that distinction between UTX rivers and streams. In that case the flattening adjustment may not solve the OP problem.Might be worth posting a question over on the UTX forum on Simforums.

Thanks for your replies.I've altered all parameters in the streams tab and the two parameters UT_INLAND_THIN_SMALL in the water bodies tab.I've exagerated the offset numbers which had big influences on some type of rivers causing big gaps in the landscape.Unfortenally I didn't find the parameter for the raised rivers. They remained raised.Altough they are also small rivers.
