March 20, 201214 yr Although I am very impressed with the quality of the graphics in Flight is it possible to overcome the shimmer on distant tree leaves and some other objects especially if they are very long and thin in width?I have an Intel 2 core quad Q9550 CPU at 2.83 GHz core system with 4 gig ram and a GeForce 9800 GTX graphic card with my 24 inch screen set to 1920 x 1200 resolution. I have medium game settings except for shadows which is set to low.I have tried changing those global 3D setting, in the NVIDIA control pane, which are not set to application controled but so far I cannot eliminate the shimmer so my graphics is not yet rock solid like I could achieve in FSX. March 20, 201214 yr Have you got Nvidia Inspector? If not, I suggest you download and install it. Do a search around the forum and get yourself some suggested settings. March 20, 201214 yr The Sharpness quality will help if you can run it at high or maximum. I think with your card though maximum would be disabled. At medium you're going to get a lot of jaggies along the edge of objects which yes will flicker. The 9800 GTX is on the under powered side to do heavy AA so you may have to live with it or try a FXAA injector. March 20, 201214 yr Author Have you got Nvidia Inspector? Thanks for the advice, I have just installed it and will try it outThe Sharpness quality will help if you can run it at high or maximum.Yes I have now tried maximum and it does help but still not perfect. Maybe I need to upgrade to a more high spec system. If I do will the shimmering disappear?
