March 22, 201214 yr Hi, JD.I just wanted to touch base with you to see if you'd seen my earlier e-mails about the (failed) registration for Radar Contact.I'm at a loss on this one as we apparently ran into problems with this back in 2006, but they were eventually resolved (seemingly by using the same e-mail address). Please reply at your earliest convenience. Thanks much,Michael Pettis
March 22, 201214 yr Commercial Member you've changed email addresses, and i've sent two emails in reply to two of your emails, both with your key that you requested. check your email, check your spam filters, check your junk mail folder. let me know if you didn't get them. maybe you can use another email address that you know works.jdyou've changed email addresses, and i've sent two emails in reply to two of your emails, both with your key that you requested. check your email, check your spam filters, check your junk mail folder. let me know if you didn't get them. maybe you can use another email address that you know works.jd JD Read my blog
March 22, 201214 yr Author I wish I could say that's bizarre, but Comcast seems to have a way of chewing up e-mails without the courtesy of sending an alert--despite the fact that you (and others) have been manually added to my "safe" list. So, to avoid any further drama, could I ask if you could send it to both my comcast address AND my work address; [email protected] .Sorry for all of the problems and best wishes on whatever you're working on. :-)I wish I could say that's bizarre, but Comcast seems to have a way of chewing up e-mails without the courtesy of sending an alert--despite the fact that you (and others) have been manually added to my "safe" list. March 22, 201214 yr If comcast uses gmail or other system that offers an on-line built in e-mail spam filter set it to bypass jdtllc.com. Also clear it in any pc spam filter you might have.To use this if available you would have to set it logging into the web e-mail interface to get to your settings. You can't set these from Outlook or other in pc mail application.
March 23, 201214 yr Author Thanks, Ron.I set a filter in Comcast to redirect it to another folder; hopefully that will work. The firewall shouldn't be an issue, as it's not getting to Comcast before I log in.Michael Pettis
March 23, 201214 yr Author Hi, Guys. Not sure if another attempt was made yet, but I just wanted to let you know nothing had come through on either e-mail address yet. Thanks,Michael Pettis
March 23, 201214 yr Did you set it in your e-mail reader or at the ISP's web site for filtering.Make sure you enter just the domain (jdtllc.com) without a specific sender. What service does comcast use? Some people have problems with hotmail.Maybe jd can send a PM via AVSIM here with your information.Consider setting up a gmail account and send a message to [email protected] from there. gmail is the underpinned system my isp uses but I have also used it to set up an account for my wife. Be sure to set its spam filters. It also can be made to work with your reader in your pc with a little work if you don't want to use your browser to read e-mail.
March 24, 201214 yr Author Thanks, Ron.Yes, I already have a G-mail account, so I'll forward that to him, as well. But it should have come through at least on my work address. Comcast support is so funky that it's like trying to stop a tidal wave with a sheet.:-)Mike Pettis
March 24, 201214 yr Author I just sent an e-mail to [email protected] with my alternate addresses, including my gmail address.Thanks.Mike Pettis
March 24, 201214 yr make sure in g-mail that you have set your filters to pass through jdtllc.com. set it to never send it to spam.
March 25, 201214 yr Author I received the key e-mail on all three accounts, but let's play it safe and use the [email protected] account.BTW, the key didn't work. I tried opening RCv4 as Administrator and pasting it in, then followed the advice on the forums by uninstalling/reinstalling and then manually copying it in. In each case, once I clicked the key, the registration panel would go for a few seconds, then show as "unresponsive" and then disappear. Reopening RCv4.exe would just take me back to the registration page.I'll post this verbatim on the support forum; in case that's your preferred way to handle this. Thanks again for your help.Michael Pettis
March 25, 201214 yr You right clicked on rcv4.exe and started as admin, correct? That's different then being logged in as an admin type user.Send me in a PM here (do not post it in a reply here) the following information:1. Your full path to FS.2. Your full path to your FS folder under your documents folder. This is where your .pln, .wx, and .flt files are stored.3. The user name you used for registering and the e-mail address the key was used for. Your g-mail address is best as I know it will pass the .zip file I will return with your files configured.4. Paste the entire copy of the key message you received including the e-mail address it was sent to into the P.M.5. Include the product code including any - preceding it.This has worked for another user here.I'll try to get the files back to you the next day as an e-mail. I'll send you my e-mail address to clear through your spam filter in a PM.
