March 22, 201214 yr Hey gang,I have been preaching in here , since I downloaded and installed Flight, that we need to keep letting the Flight team know, of our strong desire to have Track IR support included in Flight. I myself have as of this afternoon, emailed the Flight team on 3 occasions regarding Track IR, and some other minor things. To me, and about any Track IR user, support for it is as essential as having support for our joystick. After all, they did not just give us a game with mouse/keyboard control only, they gave us one that included joystick and rudder pedal support. Taking away the ability to use Track IR in a flight sim to a Track IR user, would equate to taking away joystick support and forcing one to use the mouse...Anyway, today I ordered the Track IR 5 to update from version 4. I posted on the Natural Point forums asking about the software, and also asking if they have heard anything further regarding getting it implemented into Flight. Below is a direct quote, from the Marketing Manager at NP in response to my question:<<<- The MS Flight team seems to really want to implement TrackIR in time, but they don't have an estimate for me on when that might be. Keep the pressure up, though, as community feedback will be one of the biggest factors in moving TrackIR integration up their priority list._________________________Seth SteilingMarketing ManagerOptiTrack | TrackIR >>>This response can certainly be viewed directly on the Natural Point Forums. So gang, they are hearing us. I still believe strongly, the more they hear from us, the more importance might get put into getting support for it in Flight. So don't give up the good fight! Let's make sure, if we are a Track IR user, they know how important it is for us, to have this support added into Flight. After all, they did it with FSX, they did it with FS9. They can do it with Flight!Share the passion! :smile:And for those Track IR users that have been asleep the last several days, or new ones joining this forum, email them at:[email protected]As always be respectful and graceful, but firm in the need. Many thanks in advance for your help, Don B
March 22, 201214 yr Commercial Member Im really happy to hear TiR is getting some traction, but PLEASE dont spam the msflight E-mail. If you do, your efforts may back-fire. Please keep things civil and understand that the person behind that e-mail addy is human, just like you and me. He's not going to take kindly to being hammered with TrackIR request's over and over. Even Josh mentioned TrackIR in the Avsim interview. Your feelings have reached even him. It will happen. Just give it some time. Kevin Miller 3D Artist and developer

He's not going to take kindly to being hammered with TrackIR request's over and over.+1I am certainly not asking nor suggesting that anyone keep hammering them over and over regarding Track IR - an occasional email from time to time maybe, certainly not an everyday occurence or anything like that - nor am I asking for non-track ir users to just do this for us - I believe there are enough of us users that really want this, we can make our feelings known and perhaps help the cause...I mainly just don't want folks to take the " it won't do any good" approach and not at least express their desire. Thanks Kevin, Don B
March 22, 201214 yr I suspect that the folks on the team are very well aware of the Track IR requirement. My informal analysis has the pretty much at the top of the 'please can we have' list......I can only re-iterate what has already been said about keeping any communications civil, responsible and to the point. March 22, 201214 yr Commercial Member It does and will do good to let them know what you want. This product is NOT like FSX were they give you a sim, and you better like it. They plan to support Flight for the long haule, and give the customers what they want. If they feel the customer wants TrackIR, they will give it. Thats the plan, and even the interview with Josh shows that clearly. The problem lies in will the simmers voices be drowned out by the hoard of new pilots? Time will tell, but the LAST thing you want to do is play "angry hard-core simmer" with them. Kevin Miller 3D Artist and developer
March 22, 201214 yr I sent them a very polite email letting them know how important to community TrackIR is. I do not use it myself, but I understand how important it is for a lot of other players.
