March 26, 201214 yr Ok so not too long after Flight came out - I downloaded on March 5th, I seem to enjoy it more and more.I love my FSX with the great addons I have for it - mainly scenery/weather/texture related stuff. I said from the get go here, I would continue to fly and love FSX along with Flight... and I keep saying that.Well here it is, tomorrow will be 3 weeks to the day, and alas I have not loaded up a flight since in FSX yet.Not only that - in the early going of this Flight adventure, I was still splitting my time amongst other forums as well, namely FSX and the hardware subforms- the hardware forums mainly to stay on top of the lastest tweak/gimmick/hardware to eek this little more peformance out of FSX.Now I find msyelf, this past week, spending very little time even at those other forums, all my time available being spent here in this great forum, and then flying Flight. I don't think I have even checked in on the other forums in the last couple of days. And doing a little other stuff as well, very little other as I continue to recover from my surgery. Flight has been somewhatof a blessing in that regard, givijng me something to pass the time and keep my mind of other things. Soon however life will be back to normal - I hope at least - I will be hard at the real world again, and then my time will be truly limited...So sadly, I kind of miss those other things, having been so pre-occupied with Flight - and this forum. Yeah I have even purchased a couple other combat flight sims, got them installed, just have not spent any time with them yet - will here very soon though and they will take a little focus away undoubtedly. But with over 33 hours in Flight , I still find exciting stuff, haven't even begun the aerocache hunts yet, still doing some challenges, some re-doing to get a better medal - and the odd job here and there. Not quite into Multiplayer so not ready to check that out anytime soon. Plenty more to do in Flight that I see just from what I have so far.So what is this serious flight simmer to do? All I know is, what I have been doing so far, is really just having some good ole down to earth fun. I don't think that is a bad thing. I suspect when REX releases Essentials, I will be very excited about trying it out and spend some time in my beloved FSX once again...So anyway, while Flight is fun, I sure have been neglecting some other areas of flight simming I have had great enjoyment out of.That's ok though, things will look up tomorrow - my new Track IR5 arrives to replace the TIR4 I have now - that will be exciting! Oh wait, crap, Flight still does not offer native support for Track IR yet :sad:Next week might be a good week to delve a little bit into those new combat flight sims...Sorry gang, just rambling. Have been having a blast, just a little down I guess... maybe I need a day's break or something. Sure has been a lot of fun though! Maybe next week, I won't neglect things so much. Don B
March 26, 201214 yr Not quite into Multiplayer so not ready to check that out anytime soondon, you really should. you are missing something. I really love these group flights now, so much fun with a bunch of other crazy people. but don't misunderstand me, people may be crazy but these flights are not. no crashing in other planes (well, at least not on purpose). kalo uses to host some of the well planned ones these days, usually some 200nm but you can join at any time if free seats are available since there are plenty of stopovers on various airports and fields where you can join the gang. some chose free flight, some even pick a mission or job which they fly along with the others. so you do what you would do also when alone in front of your comp except that you see a bunch of funny gays and even gals around you flying in the same direction. check the multiplayer subforum where kalo, ak and others post regular screens ans even videos from these group flights - which eventually end at the desitination in uncoordinated fun and stunt sessions :Peace: . March 26, 201214 yr Yeah, I tagged along on my first one Saturday night and it was a lot of fun. Even my wife, who normally ignores anything on the computer involving gaming, looked over my shoulder and said "##### are all those people doing around you?" Then she proceeded to sit down and watch the flight for half an hour or so.
March 26, 201214 yr ##### are all those people doing around youlucky you. my better half stops after ##### :-) Phil Leaven i5 10600KF, 32 GB 3200 RAM, ASUS 4070 12GB EVO, Asus ROG Z490-H, 2 WD Black NVME for each Win11 (500GB) and MSFS (1TB), Rolling Cache 16GB, Photogrammetry always OFF, Live Weather and Live Traffic always ON, Res 2560x1440 on 27"
March 26, 201214 yr Author lucky you. my better half stops after ##### :-)LOL, yeah that is probably what mine would do - doubt she would hang around to watch very long. While I am fortunate in that she never complains in any way about time I spend on the computer for simming - she has absolutely 0 interest in any sort of computer gaming. Her computer she uses for email, facebook, and internet shopping... Every time I do a new build, she gets excited cause she then gets newer equipment as well - what I retired...I hear ya on the online thing guys, and someday I may just do that - I just really burned myself out, more like fried, on online gaming back in my very hardcore sim racing days - while it has been a few years, have not quite recovered. As Flight expands, and IF they implement Track IR support so I stick with it, someday I will probably join in just for the heck of it...Thanks, Don B
